Well, I managed it, of a fashion. I was tired, hot, dehydrated (self inflicted, mea culpa!!!) and lacking motivation and it showed in my pace today. I had to slow it right down to make it all the way around. But it does show that even when conditions aren’t ideal, if you go slow enough you can complete the session. Barring no disasters I should finish week 9 just before we go on holiday in a couple of weeks’ time. For the first time ever I’ll be going in holiday as “a runner” 🏃♂️
One of those days...W8R1: Well, I managed it, of... - Couch to 5K
Good job with the run, some days it’s just not perfect and you have to dig deep and finish it. Hydration does help a lot and you knew that was off, so well done even going out there and facing it.
You’ll graduate on time, you obviously have the drive to get there.
We do say that slowness is the name of the game. The object of the exercise being to complete the session. Nothing more 🙂
Resist the urge to speed up and you’ll complete the programme in one piece 😃👍.
You’ve got this! You know it. You’ve done the first run of W8, just two more like that then W9 stretches ahead of you with the lure of a shiny badge and a podium at the end. Only 2 extra minutes.
Who cares how slow you do it?
Good luck! ❤️👍🏻😀👊🏃♀️🏃♂️
Thanks for the kind words. I started doing 30 mins plus in week 5, so I’ve already done 7 runs over the half hour. Still not 5km, but that will come in time and when I do my first parkrun in a couple of weeks. I’m resisting the urge to do a parkrun before graduation, but soon!!
