I ran my first 5k on Monday, with my sister. Back on my own for a couple of weeks while she lays by the pool in Spain. Wasn't sure what to do tonight. Was fiddling around on the Runkeeper app and found some interval activities in the workouts section.
I had a go at the Intro to Intervals workout. It was fun! I'm not fast naturally so the fast sections were challenging but I did manage to up my snail pace to tortoise pace for the required minutes!! And I had something left in my legs at the end of the half hour, that included a 5 min warm up and cool down slow run. I added a 5 min walk either end too!
I don't know much about intervals but I hope they will help with stamina. I want 5k to be a comfortable run.
Support Vehicle was at the end to pick me up! He worries about me on the railway line on my own so lurks around bird watching! Wasn't on my own tonight though! Lots of cyclists out. It was a beautiful evening!!

Impressive!! Well done...and good on you for trying different things. And Mr Ang is very cute with his support vehicle and concern. Happy running. πππ
We live in a lovely area. I love Harvest. Am a farmer's daughter so have so many memories of summer in the fields. I enjoyed the intervals. Was hard to keep running at a fast pace! I just aimed to run a little faster than I would normally! π€ͺπ€ͺπ€ͺ
Looks gorgeous Ang. Once I get my leg properly going again Iβm going to have a look at intervals - they sounds interesting, not sure how Iβll get on with speedy bits though ππππ
Sounds like fun Ang! I'm doing an efforts session with my running club for the first time tomorrow night. I'm not sure exactly what it entails but it's some kind of intervals session I think!?! There was a link on the email to an article about intervals building speed and endurance so they must be good for us! π
Well done trying something new and you even enjoyed it yay!! I do them (intervals) but canβt say I enjoy them!! Great photos and what a lovely caring OH. πππ»ππΆ
Hi Ang33333, I seem o have been away and involved with other things, so the forum and running have not had so much attention. So good to hear that you are experimenting and found it fun! All the best for your next run/experiment! πββοΈπ
