Yup good atmosphere and a nice breakfast after with friends who also took part. Just seen the stats and the guy who came first ran it in 18.11 mins 😳. That’s mental!

Lol I’m not sure what heart rate stats mean. Is that a lot ?. Is that a good thing ?. Jesus now I think of it is there a danger zone ? If I go over 200 will I die?. 😱

Now you mention it , towards the end my watch buzzed and all I could see was an exclamation mark!. Maybe it was saying “your about to die your about to DIE!!!” 😁

I think that’s pretty high. Now you mention it mine buzzed and showed me an exclamation mark today during the run, so I’ve looked into the stats in the app and apparently I’m “over reaching” as you were too. If you click on the run in the app and then charts symbol you’ll scroll down to something called “training effect”. It makes for sobering reading. Best we wind it back a little I reckon 😳. My HR was 190 😳😂😳

Ooo that’s a bit scary 😳 I’m sat here on the sofa and my heart rates 88 is that bad?.

Depends. What are you doing on the sofa 😂

You beast that you are 😂 I’m watching a film... a rubbish one hence on here talking to you 😁. I have had a couple of glasses of wine though.

You’ll be fine then. Wine cures everything. 😃

Great work Forest, Parkrun is so addictive. It’s great when all the tech we use actually does what it’s supposed to do! 😀

I wouldn’t even contemplate doing 5K in 18:11. Can’t imagine that being possible! 😳😳

Breakfast afterwards is enough reward for getting through it! 🙂😋

220 beats per minute minus your age is the max your heart should get up to when training... and you shouldn’t push to the max for long at all. So I guess that’s why you got the warning, to say slow down a bit 🤪

Forestgrump profile image
ForestgrumpGraduate in reply to CatMo13

At 42 almost 43 that makes 178 max!. Jesus 😨 my heart rate on the sofa is 80 odd according to this watch . Im a bit worried 😦

What does it say your resting heart rate is? Crap, just worked out that my max is 164 then 😳

Exactly ! I’m now sat here watching it, willing it to go down but now it’s going up! Stress!!! . I’m turning the bugger off .

Below a average for my age should be 72 !

I’ve been running for 10 weeks now wth is going on! Maybe to much salt in my diet 🤔

RunBrianRun profile image
RunBrianRunGraduate in reply to Forestgrump

That’s fine. The RHR is a better indication of your cardio vascular health apparently (hang on I’ll ask my sister who’s sat next to me, she’s a GP).....

RunBrianRun profile image
RunBrianRunGraduate in reply to RunBrianRun

Yep. I was right. It should be unless you have a heart block but because the HR was so high that’s highly unlikely. It can be spotted on an ECG though. We’re good to go! But you should get your self checked out for blood pressure anyway.

Will do thanks . Calling the gp on Monday 👍

Don’t worry this is obviously normal for you. Some people just have higher heart rates. The running should bring it down over a period of time. Do some yoga breathing 😊😳
