Hello, Week 6 in the bag

I’ve been lurking on here since I started six or seven weeks ago. I’ve never felt desperate or elated enough to feel a need to post - all my little questions seem to be answered in the existing threads. But this morning MJ told me I’m A Runner and I knew you lot would share my joy. Anyone who’s seen me shuffle along outside would laugh at the description, but you know, don’t you? 57, carrying enough pounds to survive a biblical famine, lost my forties to chronic fatigue, and never in my adult life broken out of a walk except to catch a naughty child, dog or horse. And now I can keep up my comfortably slow jog for 25 minutes! Honestly, if I can do it, absolutely anyone can. Except those who stay on the couch, of course. The best mantra I read here is ‘Channel your inner snail’ which is why I think I’m finding this doable, and my minutes per km are in double figures. My personal target is a Parkrun, and I should be ready in a month or so. Keep up the good work with your running, and posting encouraging comments!

Great stuff! No hurry, no pressure, no need to push 😃👍🏃‍♀️

Slow running builds legs You will be in fine fettle for Parkrun if you keep up with your slow running Speed merchants will crash and burn meanwhile.

Parkrun is brilliant fun for runners of all levels 💪👍😃
