W9R2 New experiences on the run to graduation!

Well runners! W9R2 has just been completed. My inspiration for getting out today was a message that my running shorts are ready for collection! I’m not sure if I’ll wear them for graduation on Saturday, but I told myself I don’t need them if I’m not running so “time to go, better late than never”!

True to every run, I decided to make this another new and great experience. So, I drove to the park where I’m due to do a charity run in September. I thought it would be a nice place for my penultimate graduation run.

There are so many paths to take in the park and I did take a few I wish I hadn’t once I was on it, (steep 😵), and it was HOT!, but determined to do this! There was less shade here, but the feet keep moving. “Come on MJ were gonna keep going”! His 5 minute calls were nice again today! I really can’t imagine running without him. It’s my first ever midday run and those inclines were quite tough, but oh yes, I did it! I did well up a bit so I can’t imagine what Saturday is going to be like! But I equally can’t wait to find out! Can’t thank you all enough for all the encouragement, laughter and support! Now off to pick up my shorts 😬, drink lots and rest my legs for the big one on Saturday! ❤️

Yep - I'll be there at Park run this Saturday. Jeez you chose the hard bit! Most people go around the big fields the other side of the car-park but it's a bit exposed in the sun. Trees are lovely though aren't they?!😂😃🏃‍♀️

Chose? No 🤣 I had absolutely no idea where I was running to. Even went past the bit with the horses. Had a little chat with them as I passed. Got to the end a realised I have to just turn back. 🤣! It was certainly an adventure! ❤️

I’m going to run at Coate Water on Saturday. I absolutely loved that place, but I hope to join you at Lydiard Park runs after that. Brilliant! 😁😁❤️

Ang, I got back late yesterday and went to bed late. Woke up early but I was still tired and fighting it. I could sense the delay was set to linger, so I had to just get out there with the go slow mantra in my mind. The message about the shorts and not having the body to put in them yet kind of made up my mind too. Saturday is going to be a scorcher, so it’s definetly a early start! I want to enjoy every second of that run!! 😉❤️

Lydiard Park is my nearest park run. Aiming to one in Sept. Usually do the race for life there!

Well, you'll recognise me shuffling along at the back on Saturday if you go. Got a special t-shirt waiting for me :)

Prospect Run the Rainbow is 8 September at Lydiard. I’ve registered for that one just after I started C25K! Motivation to complete! I know it’s a 9 week programme, but there was no maths involved in me starting. Never in a million years did I think I would be a graduate by July and on my birthday too! Amazing! 😁❤️

Aah thank you QueenTea! That’s why a t-shirt is the celebration prize so we know who we are!

I didn’t keep the shorts! 😬 I didn’t find them flattering. They were a loose fit and holey (I’m sure there’s a proper term for that 😊). No lining 😯. Not too short, but I was concerned you would see bits you shouldn’t due to the holes. It seemed ok when you put them on, but it wasn’t the right sort of cut for me either, sitting right where I’d rather not draw attention to. I looked like a red barrel! Lol 😂 Still I’ll be working on that as part of the phase 2 mission!!

Photo on Saturday! 😉❤️

Reply

I completely understand why you wouldn’t want to wear holey shorts!! I like the sound of your Capri leggings but there’s no way I’d be seen wearing shorts in public - I really would scare the wildlife 😹. Can’t wait to see your graduation run post - you’ll smash it😘

😁! The wildlife don’t bat an eyelid, unless you count the dogs. I’ve even had a pigeon totally ignore my run up! 🤣

There’s a lot of giggle going on for me too, so the leggings do keep a better solid form. 🤣! So, my phase 2 mission will be to get the shorts and I’ll have good motivation to reduce the giggle in the wiggle. 😉❤️

Good Luck on Saturday hope all goes well and you enjoy it.

Guess what Flaraflarkin??? 🤔 I’ve only gone and found some shorts today!! They’re Lycra but they suit me better! Shame about the loose bits that show, but I’m wearing it! Dependent on how hot it is early tomorrow! I might get bitten too! 😯! But I’ll go for it, if I can! 😃😃💪🏽❤️

Thank you Dralimc! The shorts? 😂 I didn’t keep them! They actually looked like a bit like boxers shorts, but shorter and with holes. Way too much gathering going on! 🤣

I’m on the look out now, before the summer season is over! If I find some I’ll brave it and take a photo! 😉❤️

They sound flattering (not...). If you do find some flattering ones, let me know. Not sure the world quite ready for my legs tho... right off out now for first PG run! 🏃🏻‍♀️

Pretty damn brilliant Dralimc! I’m in Wiltshire. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a C25K family run event? Just for the fun of it? But the real brilliance in all of this is how much everyone is supporting everyone out their running on their own (literally), on a personal journey, but in this virtual world you never ever feel alone. You know there’s someone out there doing it too! 😁❤️

😁 Thank you Bridget! It was doable, but some did feel like hills on my approach 😰! Probably not too tricky for some. I did laugh at myself. Some paths had a fork and I had to choose which way to go and then quickly realised I was going up hill, looking down at the flat path. Errrr...no! 🙄 Hopefully it will have helped to build up some stamina though. 🤣❤️

They were not really hills Jay! Actually some I think were mind, due to my wrong turns! But I did it! I had water coming out of my ears when I took off my headphones! 💦💦🤣! It was the hardest run on the legs I’ve had for the whole programme. Good job I didn’t try that any earlier! 🤓❤️
