Hi all, just done W2R2 and feel like I should repeat this week when done as really struggling to breathe properly during run times. I’m not sure if this will help but feel like I need to master this before carrying on in case I hurt myself. Am I being daft or do I just carry on? I’m a BIG girl 16:9lb and have never ran before so trying to stay positive 🤞

Hi if it's breathing then you need to slow down. Everyone on here will tell you go "slow & steady" helps so much with breathing. Good luck with the programme 😊

If you completed all the running parts without stopping then it doesn’t matter how much you have struggled, you have achieved the objective, so move on.

If you had to walk any part of any of the running parts then take it as a practice, have a rest day and give it another go.

Slowing down will help you - this is all meant to be done at a fairly slow jog, slow enough that you could talk to someone running alongside you. For me that meant very, very slow in the early weeks.

And take this as slow as you like...the heat currently is hitting all of us.

If you completed a run, don't repeat it. Just slow down. As slow as you need to. It works. It's so hot at the moment too, so that is not helping at all. Slow is good! 🐢🐌

Very well done! As everyone will tell you, there is no such thing as too slow, so if you find your breathing is giving you trouble, go even slower!

Enjoy your running, it’s very contagious!

😀👍🏻🏃‍♀️

Hi there - I think I was at W5 before I noticed that my breathing was better controlled - it just sort of happened. I’d stick with it, slow down and trust that it will all come together. Well done BTW 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Only repeat if you didn’t manage to complete it. We all struggle with breathing at first but once you get through 5-8 minute runs, it sorts itself out. Slow down and slow down again! Great work so far. Well done!

I’m doing week 5 again as I was worried I couldn’t do week 6, made the mistake to look what’s coming next. Anyway I did run 1 again this morning and was well impressed with myself, I think if you feel you need to do it again to do it, think of what you were doing before you started and you will realise how you have improved even if it is slow and I’m slow lol well done for getting through week 1

You’re in exactly the same place that I was last week. I found to jump from 60 to 90 secs difficult.

Keep going and maybe slow the runs down to a jog.

Good luck

What everyone else said! It's really hard to slow it down when you think you can't go any slower. It was one of the major things I had to learn at the beginning. Speed will come later. My run is barely faster than my walk. But it has a totally different effect on the body.

As Tasha99 said, the breathing just sorts itself out at some point...but quite a lot later in the programme. Good luck with the rest. Keep it up, you're doing really well 🙂
