I slipped my 3rd run-o-the-week to Saturday so I can do a Parkrun when the weather improves from sub-saharan to something more sensible. The Keswick Parkrun starts at 9am,but I find if I try to run anytime after 5:45am it is too hot.

I've never seen this land so parched. The picture is Skiddaw just now, all yellows and no green. Some of my run today was off-road, but it is just as hard as the tarmac. And no, I don't run up mountains, I'm strictly a flat runner.

Today I managed to run for 4.5Km in 32 minutes before I just had to walk home. Which is 0.5Km more than ever before, and the pace is good too, for me. I also seem to have mislaid another kilo this week.

Love to everyone in new-runner-land....

Well done you.... it is so very warm and we really are not used to it at all.

All we can do is relax and enjoy whatever runs we can do, whilst staying safe and sensible...:)

Still a beautiful photograph, despite the tints of heat:)

Excellent job, the running and the weight. Lovely shot, the rain will come.

Well done on everything in your post! The photo, the distance, the weight 😀 I’d like to do a parkrun at some point but as Sundays are out for my family (husband is a pastor), Saturday morning is spent running around ferrying the children to their activities, shopping etc so it just isn’t a good time for me :(

Lovely photo of Skiddaw, yes I agree with you that when the temperature is sub-Saharan it is not advisable to run. I completed my final 30-minute post graduation run this morning between 6.30 and 7 o'clock I was lucky as the sun was shining brilliantly but with the temperature at 8C/46f where I am in Central Scotland, the run was very comfortable. Not sure what to do next, I have a few options, could try Ju-Ju's 10k plan, 10k pod-casts like B210k, Stepping Stones or just the 10% rule which is to run for 33 minutes, 36 minutes etc, I'll think about what one to choose. Good luck with your park runs once the weather cools down a bit whenever that will be.

Well done on a good run - and, wow, what a great view to run with! I’m guessing you were pleased to “mislay” another kilo, in which case well done on that too! (If not, I recommend grabbing the nearest available chocolate cake quickly!!) 😂😃❤️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Lovely photo. You're so lucky to live in such a great part of the country. I'm just back from my first postgrad run. Hotter than ever today but well done us for finding the will power to keep going 😊

The strange thing is that we moved North, 'cos I really don't like the bright sun, and the heat. But yes, we are lucky to live here.

“Strictly a flat runner”. Where near Keswick can you run for 30 mins and stay flat? I run into Cockermouth from Brigham or along the coast path at Allonby but otherwise struggle to find 30 mins flat run!! Have you seen they do a park run in Whinlatter?? 😱Even the notion!

It's a 2Km out and back on the banks of Lake Bassenthwaite - I can stretch it to 3k, but then it isn't flat :(

Keswick Parkrun is on the old railway track out towards Threlkeld.

And yes, I know about the Whinlatter one, not at my age....

I’ve always wanted to walk that track but the bridges were washed away just as I was planning to do it. I broke my leg coming off High Rigg (s of Keswick) so will have to wait, but may pick your brains for the Bassenthwaite run in a couple of months?? And as for Whinlatter - only walking with a packed lunch , certainly not running!! Madness 😄
