Week 5 Run 3

Well that was a bit of a shock! Going from walk run, walk run to 20 minutes of straight running - thought my lungs were going to burst 🤣. Am very proud that I managed to complete it without stopping though. Am a little apprehensive about what week 6 has in store but will rise to the challenge - any advice for getting through the next week would be good - am still struggling to find a good breathing pattern and feel like I end up gasping for air. 😀

Firstly, massive congratulations. W5R3 is a huge milestone on the path to graduation. Be proud of yourself.

W6 is tricky. You can totally do it but it needs respect. Take the first two runs slowly and you will be ready for the longer, third run. Some people misjudge how fast to go and wear themselves out too early.

Enjoy it - it’s a good week.

Amazing I’ve just done that run and I’m still smiling!! Just go slow and steady and don’t let the doubts in you will smash it x

Just trust the plan... steady and slow... breathe like you do every second and just relax... well done you!

Just don’t be fooled into thinking that week 6 is easier just because it has some walk breaks. It’s a step up from Week 5, though a perfectly manageable step if you are mentally prepared. If you start of expecting it to be easy you’ll get a shock. I didn’t especially enjoy the first two runs of week 6, but because I’d been warned on here to expect that I was ready for it and battled through. I actually enjoyed the continuous run at the end of the week more.
