I did it!! This morning I graduated! Week 9 Run 3 is in the bag - and I feel amazing!!
Although a little slower this morning itβs the completing that 30min run that counts. I have discovered this week that if I run for 30mins, walk my 5min cool down then begin to run again I can reach the elusive 5km!! Which Iβve done twice this week!
My aim was always to complete my first park run - and that is exactly what I feel ready to do this Saturday!
Couch to 5k has been amazing, at times hard and yes Michael Johnson has been told to go where the sun doesnβt shine at times, but is a program that totally works!
I literally went from my couch, due to major surgery, and 9 weeks later Iβm running 5km!!
My aim now is to complete many park runs with the view to training for a 10k next year. Iβm in awe of how my body has recovered and is able to do this! We really are amazing as human beings!!
Thanks for the encouragement on this forum - itβs been an amazing journey and hereβs to the next stage! π
Take care! Running 5k is hard, even harder if you push for 30 minutes. As a new runner you need time to build your running legs, so be patient and donβt push too hard or youβll get injured
Well done on completing the programme πππ₯. Have fun πͺππββοΈ
Well done! Congratulations! Enjoy your time on the podium! ππ₯πΎπ₯πππ And all the very best for your onward running journey. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Woop woop !. Outstanding result!. Well done you. This is such an amazing feat youβve accomplished get yourself a few glasses of fizz down you this evening π
Congratulations, I am sure your story will inspire others who are just starting out and maybe doubting themselves. Enjoy your park runs and wherever your running takes you to next
Congratulations for completing the program and Graduating Mummymaw...
Well done, as Misswobble has suggested do take care not to overdo your running at this early stage. Just 30 minute runs will make sure you grow stronger, without risking an injury...
