Hi folks,
Apologies for lack of posting recently, and even more for lack of congratulating those of you who made it on to the podium recently!
I was on the Injury Couch for a couple of days, having Done Something Awful to my back (“You need better core strength if you’re going to carry on running,” said my distance-running co-worker, unsympathetically). Then I was away in Yorkshire, babysitting my adorable nieces while my sister and brother-in-law went away for the weekend. All lovely, but left very little time for either running or posting!
I did manage to sneak in a run, however, around the village where my sister lives and even out into the local farmland. Amazing how much smaller a village seems when you aren’t accompanied by a pair of four-year-olds who want to pick up every stick and play on every possible obstacle. I turned back when the grass length got to the point where it could have concealed a pack of velociraptors (“Don’t go into the long grass!”), and enjoyed the sight of swifts screaming overhead as I ran back to the house - I haven’t seen any in Oxford this year. So nice to run in the country, with all the bird life around me. Unfortunately I’m back in the city now, so it’s back to the old routes tomorrow!
Hope everyone is doing well, and many congratulations to those of you who’ve graduated in the last week!
