Check out these bad girls...

So i’m a slight under-pronator...who knew?! Anyway my inaugural run in these was also my fastest to date. But don’t be thinking i’m showing off. It’s all relative and i was just trying to achieve a sub 8 mins per km pace. It felt like i was practically sprinting for the last 10 mins (thanks to Ricky Martin and living the vida loca - no tittering from the front row please...) but only just managed an average of 7’52”. How do you super human beings who do 6 mins per km do it?!!! Do you have chemical assistance?!

It is a great beach - i’m working myself up to running on it at low tide - but i think it will be hard work! And besides, i don’t want to get my new treads wet!

Fabulous Pippa. Love the new shoes. 😊 Your speed is great - we are all so different. I’ve learnt not to care so much but concentrate on how long I can run for. Now that’s endurance!! 😊

I don’t really care about speed - it’s just one of those challenges i’ve set myself! I’m happy to be just doing it. I alternate runs - a shorter 30mins where i try to speed up a bit and then a 5k which i know i have to go a bit slower because it takes me over 40mins. Then my third run is just for fun - no expectations!

Loving the new tyres!! Meep, meep!!

The fast ones are driving. They just forgot to turn off Strava....

Lovely beach too! Is that near home?

The beach is between Marazion and Penzance - about a mile and a half from home. The pic doesn’t do it’s fabulousness justice!

It is superb. Just like you. Is the person in the distance there to hold your post-run cocktails?

Now that’s a very sensible suggestion! But even though the increased metabolism from running has allowed me to re-embrace my former enthusiasm for wine in a manner that some might describe as ‘reckless’, even i draw the line at 6.30 in the morning!

They're gorgeous Pippa! No need to worry about anyone else's speed - we're all different. As long as you are enjoying the challenge that is enough.

No tittering from me either - I love that song :-)

Despite having previously hating lairy shoes , i couldn’t resist these! It’s the blue and orange - complementary opposites - bit like me and running before couch25k!

And who new Ricky martin was such a great motivator!

9mins is far more like my natural speed! It practically killed me - i had started off slow so had to really speed up in the last 10 mins to even out the average! I can consider that box ticked now and go back to a more normal pace!

I forget that this forum is global! I love to see a bit of sun in my ‘civilian’ life, but have to confess to being envious of your lower temperatures for running. I’m having to get up far earlier than feels natural to avoid the heat.

Agreed can’t cope with running in the heat. Just got given a sports shop voucher and am off to buy myself a buff, couldn’t cope with the minus degrees temperature yesterday.

Oooer! Minus temperatures are a bit extreme! It doesn’t usually go below freezing in this part of the world. I think 5 degrees is the lowest in my running life! (Which is a short one so far, so never say never!)
