There is a free running group with properly trained leaders that meet every Tuesday. It's only a 10-15 min walk from home!!
I was planning on going after graduation but a lady from work was joining tonight and she mentioned there was a beginner group for couch to 5k ppl so I thought I would try too. The beginner group run was 1.5 miles tonight and there were a couple of us out ahead so we had to loop back to the back marker and then carry on!
The whole beginner group was back with plenty of time before the other groups came in so we were introduced to fartleks around the carparks. I was just getting into it when they said last fast interval so I did a sprint finish.
I didn't do the scheduled 28min on continuous running but I think I can still count it?! π€
I'm looking forward to going next week as they are doing a 15 min out and 15(with good pacing) min back. Being time rather than distance will be perfect for week 9 and will be a good way of seeing if I'm really ready for the intermediate group (which was suggested tonight)

Fab...ready for the intermediate group already! Also thought I might join a group but think for my local one you have to be able to run 5k. Sounds like fun π
It sounds like the best club! One where you can run, but still laugh. Maybe delay joining the serious runners who've had their funny bone removed in the "proper" clubs for a while πππ
