Well - I did it and hand on heart I never ever thought I would. I went at a ๐ŸŒ pace but reckon speed will come after stamina. Felt so so proud of myself as struggled for 30 secs at the start of the programme.

I have always given myself a days rest between runs - is this absolutely necessary? Keen to get W6R1 in tomorrow as rest of week manic.

Sorry Mollymot, I am so happy to have completed my run today which was the final one of week 9 that I got a bit carried away thinking you also had completed week 9 not week 5, nevertheless, congratulations for finishing that run and yes you should also feel so proud of having completed that 20 minute run of week 5.

Ooeee well done!!!

I had heavy legs after that run, definitely days rest, and lots of us have found w6r1 a struggle!!

My legs were heavy too - and I went horse riding this evening so a days rest probably sensible!

This is so encouraging to read. Iโ€™m doing Wk5 R3 tonight. Iโ€™ve downloaded a playlist, to keep my mind occupied. Iโ€™m feeling slightly apprehensive/nervous.

The key for me was to go slow - first 6 mins or so were the toughest and then somehow I got distracted and just kept running. As Laura kept telling me if you want to stop and walk donโ€™t - just slow down your pace. That really helped me keep going. I reckon speed will come later. A good play list is def the answer and make sure you have no bills to encounter! Good luck - let me know how you get on x

Iโ€™ve just completed it now! Iโ€™m so happy, thanks so much for the encouragement๐Ÿ‘ It wasnโ€™t as bad as I expected it to be. I had my music on, took it nice and steady and kept positive (and avoided the hills). Thanks again.๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘

Well done Mollymot, I did w5r3 last Wednesday and found it tough but the psychological barrier was greater than the physical. I've been ill since then and I'm missing the running. Hopefully i'll get back in the trainers soon. Good luck with w6r1.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ well done. That's your milestone run done! ๐Ÿฅ‰

Yes. A rest day is absolutely necessary. Your muscles need this time to repair and strengthen.

I know you're itching to press on but only a fool rushes in ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‰

I gave myself today off - Iโ€™ve always had a rest day so decided a risk wasnโ€™t worth it!

Congratulations- itโ€™s a fantastic achievement. That lovely realisation of suddenly you can jog for 3,5,8,10 and then 20 minutes! Do not skip the rest days - they are absolutely essential. Keep going with this brilliant programme and you wonโ€™t go wrong. Towards the end I sometimes had two rest day but always did three jogs in a week. Beware Wk6 - itโ€™s a challenge! Slow and steady all the way ..... ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ
