W3R2 30 mins seems a long way off

Completed W3R2 yesterday so it’s W3R3 tomorrow, 3mins seems like forever!

I stupidly looked ahead at next week and week after 5mins & 8mins stints is a big old jump. Did anyone struggle with this? any tips? I know people see the 20mins as a wall but 8mins seems like that at the moment.

Well done on completing run 2 of the week! If you've completed the previous runs, your body will be prepared for the next. Perhaps try not to look ahead too much, just know that you've done the groundwork to prepare you sufficiently for where you are at. I had no idea if I could do the runs but I gave it a go and gave it my best, which is all I can ask of myself. I also read A LOT of posts on this forum... and saw others had the same doubts and would succeed when they weren't sure they would. That gave me the confidence to know I could do it too. Believe in yourself and you will take yourself through the weeks no worries. 🏃‍♂️

Slow and steady, just think of going for a jog.

The program kinda sneaks up on your fitness levels and before you know it you are achieving runs that you never thought possible. The program works. Trust in the knowledge that others have gone before you and they surprised themselves too by achieving their runs. It works ! If it worked for them then it will work for you too. I think that I had doubts until week 5 or 6. I think it's normal. Some of the early runs felt tough.

Well done on finishing week 3 run 2. Keep going, you are doing great! Keep us posted. Just remember it's not about going fast, just a steady jog that allows you to get to the end. If it helps put some good rock n roll on your iPod and go for it!

I know exactly how you feel! I had the exact same feeling last week, at the end of my W4. Did W5R2 yesterday and am looking forward (yes, I actually said that) to doing the 20 minutes!

Going much slower than I did my last few weeks helped tremendously! Go slow!

Every single run prepares you for the next..:)

Yes the runs are different, yes, the timings are different, but that is why the programme is so successful!

Slow and steady, landing lighlty, breathing easily...believeing you can do it and knowing you will succeed!

Well done you:)

I had the same reservations as you but I had religiously followed the program so I new I could do it. As many many people have said, this is not a competition. It is about you running for 30 minutes three times a week by week 9. You can always repeat a week or even start again if you feel you are not ready.

Thanks for all the reply’s, I’m sure I’ll do it when it comes to it, couldn’t imagine getting this far a few weeks ago, hopefully I’ve already built a bit more fitness than I thought.

Yep! Every week will push you to what you think is your absolute limit, only for you to be able to find more the following week. It seems ridiculous but this is just how getting fit works. Regular exercise and building a little more each week. The times will soon build up. The more weeks 'under your belt' the stronger and more confident you will become. However, each week will be its own challenge.

30 mins may seem a long way off, but in 6 weeks timew you WILL be running it!
