First post grad run - slow and steady and on my own!

All on my own as my sister is preparing for a 30 mile bike ride so for the first time in 9 weeks I was on my own! Stayed local and walked to the Common. We did some of week 1 and 2 here, using the slight uphill bits for the walks and the slight downhill for the runs. Had to do a bit of zig zagging and doubling back to avoid people but did it! Was very different being on my own, went off too fast! Used Runkeeper to update me on time, that worked really well. I set the voice to 'my conscience! Stayed slow and steady and really enjoyed it! Had no idea of pace or distance until I checked when I got home. Hot and Happy!!

Well done Ang! Must be tricky going out on your own for the first time. While I've completed the programme on my own the runs I have enjoyed the most have been those with my son. Going to try doing some runs without any idea of distance/speed before I start Bridge to 10k - think it must be very liberating x

It was. I just knew I was going to run for 30 mins. Turned off all the other notifications. 😁

I've had no way of tracking my pace etc due to my ancient phone but because I run the Parkrun route I'm always able to work it out - usually the first thing I do when I get back. Getting a new phone today so have got to be very careful not to get obsessed about stats!

It is. 5 mins from my house. Lots of paths cut through the longer grass. Lots of air too!

All gone a bit to pot really. Still waiting to do final run. Had to dash up to in laws at weekend and MIL died yesterday. Hadn’t expected to be up so long so didn’t take stuff with me. Am back now so hoping to finish weekend. Feel full of crap hospital food, too much coping alcohol etc atm to think about it today!!! Will let you know xxx

Looks like a lovely run. Think we need to keep Oldfloss’ mantra in our heads...I went too fast today. How did you find running on your own?

Odd! Easier in some ways cos my sister is so much taller and has a long stride. I run at her pace as she struggles to go slow! But strange as we've gone through the programme together. She's back running next week if she can walk after her bike ride!
