Hello everybody and welcome to Monday.... its a new day, a new week and a new opportunity to make some changes in our lives... Welcome to a new week!!!

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion :)

If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Have a great week, and enjoy your runs :)

After graduating on Sunday, today I feel a bit like a baby rabbit stepping out for the first time into the big wide world and blinking in the sunlight... β€œwow, so this is what a post-C25k world looks like”, β€œI wonder if the big boys and girls in Bridge to 10k are going to be friendly” and (especially) β€œwhere’s Jo Whiley gone, I need my Jo Whiley!” :)

Post-grad runs start later this morning, looking forward to some relaxed runs to consolidate my current max time of 33 minutes, while wondering whether (on a good day) I might be able to run for just those few extra minutes which would get me to 5k.

I have learned 2 things over the last two weeks, constant and excessive alcohol intake and hot and humid weather are not conducive to improved running, but hey, I was on holiday, back to the mix of hotel treadmills and home road running this week, consolidating my graduate status before moving on, any tips on non impact exercise on my running rest days, I see others recommend this....

I recommend cycling. It gives you an aerobic workout without the pounding on the legs. There is even a programme called Sofa to 50k which I follow very roughly (it's focused on road-cycling but I ride on mostly trails and bridleways) in between my runs. It's only a paper training plan, not a podcast or app, but I just make my own playlists. Gardening and kettlebell swings also keep things ticking over. britishcycling.org.uk/knowl...
