Your plans for w9r3?

As I'm getting closer to graduation πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“ I'm thinking I needed a special run to go out on 😁 I do my final c25k on Monday but seems a shame to just run it without say a park run or event. I can't hold to the following weeks (no patience πŸ˜‰) park run so I will just do my Monday final week9 run.

Just wish I'd have thought it through a bit more to end it on high event or park run. What was your graduation πŸƒ run?

Did you go out on a high event run? Celebrate?

Very interested in how you went about yours πŸ˜‰πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒ

I did mine at Parkrun 😊 was nice to do an β€˜event’ as the last run in the programme, especially as it was my first time doing Parkrun.

Earlier in the week I’d only managed just over 4K in the 30mins, and I was a little shocked at how tough I found it (I usually run very early in the morning and the temperature & humidity last Saturday was ghastly!) So I did my 30 mins then walk/ran the last 7 minutes.

It was great fun, but I hope the weather is cooler tomorrow! It was quite odd actually as my normal running route is the same as the Parkrun route, and it was quite strange sharing the space with hundreds of others!

Ah see park run or charity run would have been favourite 😊

I have to say your pretty fast doing 4K in 30 mins that's brilliant πŸ˜‰

I don’t think it really matters where you do it though! There will be plenty more Parkruns/charity runs in the future. Just because it’s the last run doesn’t mean it’s the LAST run 😊

When I did my W9R3 I just ran round the village which was no problem the only difference was one of the runs of week 9 I managed to do 6km in the 40 minutes so had to slow down when I did the other two.

Goodness that is quick 😳

It was but I just got lucky just do what you want to do when doing your graduation run and then everyone will congratulate you for doing it and you can celebrate how you want to.

Yeah I think I'll be going to local lake, done a few runs there so at least I know the route and especially the hill bits now πŸ˜‰

Best of all is local dog walking group that walk around there while I'm πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ running.

So at least I won't be feeling disheartening by not finaling on an event....I have the dogs 🐢 instead πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰

My last run will be Monday and it will be the same mostly flat route I've done every run since week 5. It's a disused railway and at one point I can see my house! My husband texts when he sees us run past the point where there are no trees!

But after that we have plans for lots of new places where we will have to do hills! Then when we are running 5k - going to be a little short on Monday..- parkrun!!

Yeah hills after this programme for me too πŸ˜‰avoided best I could do far 😁but I have to say slight hills lasting 20 or steps worth used to feel like a mountain 2 weeks ago but now I'm enjoying getting ready just beforehand to blitz them so I think I'm getting ready for them mentally 😊good luck Monday

I’ll be happy to complete it to be honest! Got a Muddy Run on 16 June so hope to do another 3 or 4. 30 mins in preparation. Still finding it rather surreal I only have one run left

Ooh good luck with the muddy I hear they are so much fun 😊

I'm doing race for life July, I missed the muddy but will sign up for next year πŸ˜‰

See it's amazing what we can do when we try and have our fellow runners πŸƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ from on here to egg us on πŸ˜‰

Good luck on your graduation run have fun 😊

Mine was earlier this week and I β€œjust” had you lot to share it with afterwards.

Be prepared for your face to hurt a lot the rest of that day - the smile lasts a long time.

Aww I cannot wait jay 😁.

I'm doing park run tomorrow with my 8 year old son then it's Monday alone to do my graduation run (sadly) won't see son & hubby till later after school/work but looking on the bright side I may celebrate with a little drink πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ just maybe.

Haven't you told your friends & family your doing/done this programme and graduated?

Long story but I’m on my own at the moment and in the middle of 10 days off work. Doing the Parkrun with my 30 year old (adopted, step-) son tomorrow though.

Ja at park run did you walk for the first 5 minutes as we do with this program?

Jay66UK profile image
Jay66UKGraduate in reply to Kar43

Haven’t done one yet but that is my plan. Stay at the back at the start and walk, run my 30, walk to the end as it’s only my first consolidation run.

Kar43 profile image
Kar43 in reply to Jay66UK

Oh I thought you had already attended park run πŸ€”I'm getting confused πŸ˜‰

That's what I'll do if I don't end up chasing behind the kids 😳

Jay66UK profile image
Jay66UKGraduate in reply to Kar43

Not me. I’m the terrified one who’ll fret all the way until I’m home again!

Kar43 profile image
Kar43 in reply to Jay66UK

No way πŸ˜‰ I'm a bit nervous to have to say so I'm trying not to over think things (trying)

I've heard it's the atmosphere that keeps us going and takes the edge of so if that's true then we will be fine jay πŸ˜‰ good luck & enjoy 😊

Thanks. I’m not worried at all about the running - that will be what it is - it’s the β€œfear of the first time”. Being somewhere I don’t often go to do something I’ve never done with a big group of people I don’t know. But then as I said, I’m a wuss!

Kar43 profile image
Kar43 in reply to Jay66UK

Yep this is me too 😊 I've got over the fear of coming last/stopping during etc etc, it's just the new thing that I'm bit nervous of but we are braver than we think ay? You've conquered c25k πŸ˜πŸ˜‰the rest is easy 😊

I did it all wrong. Impatient to finish, I did my grad run on a Friday night after a hard week at work. W9R2 was my best of the programme.......the final run was a hard slog, memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Give it some thought.......it should be a special event.

Kar43 profile image
Kar43 in reply to IannodaTruffe

See this is why I'm thinking hard now, getting too close and of course I want it to be fantastic in all ways πŸ˜‰

That's the question I wanted to ask. I'm envious of all those enjoying runs in NY (yes you, Ripcurlrana71 ), and Hong Kong to name a few. There was also a Skye run, can't remember who that was. Wish we'd organised a special run. Could try the local Parkrun I guess, just not sure if we'll be ready for that and don't know the course for pacing ourselves etc. Maybe I'm over-thinking it.
