Well I didn’t feel great when i stepped out today, borrowed my daughters headphone which kept cutting out so no music or timings which felt disappointing and just couldn’t make the distance . Sand v soft but no excuses did 25 mins and felt sick 🤢 so walked the rest. Think it’s my first fail but will learn from it, more positive beginning needed, perhaps more prep with the gadgets and a better holiday list!

It was great to be outside though even on a drizzly Cornish morning 👍🏻🏃‍♀️🌊🌧🌧🌧🌧

25 minutes is not to be sniffed at.

You know what they say around here - don't use the F-word :)

Have to say, the mere idea of running on soft sand scares me, so not surprised it was tough, especially if you weren't feeling great. But that's another 25-min run under your belt, outside in the Cornish fresh air, and in a couple of days time your running legs will be that much stronger and you'll ready to go again at w8r3.

No such thing as a fail! 25 mins is a great amount of time to run for and you've definitely got the right attitude in seeing it as a learning curve.

I've had two runs that I didn't complete one in week 7 when I attempted a stupidly steep hill and my first go at running for 30 mins (going way too fast!!). But they're two runs I wouldn't even have attempted 2 months ago.

Onwards and upwards!

Enjoy the Cornish drizzle :-)

In what sense is running for 25 minutes a failure? Take yourself back 3 weeks and ask yourself that.

Soft sand is probably the hardest thing to try to run on - it soaks up all of your energy, the opposite of the tarmac I’ve done all my running on so far.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself down, have another go in a couple of days on a slightly easier surface. Try running along the strand line - wet sand is quite hard and “bouncy”.

Enjoy the next one x

25mins is awesome and in no sense a failure.

Thanks 🙏🏻 everyone who’s replied, you’re all helping me see this as a blip, agree 25 mins is still a positive. We’ve been on holiday here for years and always wanted to run on the beach so should see it as achieving an ambition! Hey ho next run 🏃‍♀️

Even better than doing 25 minutes is doing 25 minutes and now accepting it for what it is. Well done.

Running on soft sand?

Running for 25 minutes?

Running without motivational music or timings?

Chalk this one up as a success!

You did fab!

Running on soft sand must be only marginally easier than running in ankle deep treacle!
