OMG I DID IT! WEEK 9 RUN 3, GRADUATED!!!

I actually feel quite emotional. This was my fourth attempt at c25k and I was never really sure I could do it, gremlins, self doubt, niggling little injuries and life have previously always got in the way BUT NOT THIS TIME! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

It went absolutely great today, I ran along the beach which is my happy place and perfect for graduation. Everything felt good, my legs and breathing etc were just right. It was drizzling which was fine by me as it kept me nice and cool. Funny thing happened 3/4 of the way through, got a phone call which I hadn’t realised had interrupted the app and paused the run so I carried on happily but wondering why I wasn’t getting any countdowns off Laura. Checked my phone and I’d been running for the full 30 minutes, saw the app had paused earlier but because I was feeling so good I decided to resume the app and carried on until I’d done a full 5k then had a nice long cool down walk.

I’m off on holiday to Cornwall tomorrow (don’t even tell me about the weather forecast) and I’m taking my running stuff and hitting those hills (carefully). Then I think I’ll be joining my friend’s 5k running club on a Thursday night, park run on a Saturday and a speed or stamina run on another day. My other half has signed me up for Tough Mudder in September and a friend is trying to persuade me to do a half marathon next year (😱) so I’ll defi be keeping this up and staying on this brilliant forum 😁

Oh and for any of you reading this who are at an earlier stage please know if I can do this, you certainly can I am NOT a natural runner at all!! 😁😁😁

Woooo, congratulations, you made it!! I'm off to Cornwall tomorrow too. Ha, time to celebrate a graduation week (maybe with a thunderstorm). I'm also planning a run one morning, my first post-graduation run. Have fun and enjoy!! Well done again! x

Ahh brilliant! Where in Cornwall? We’re near Newquay. Looking forward to celebrating when we get there and having my first post graduairun there but I’m not happy about this weather, we are camping ⛺️ 😱😫

Wow, we're by Newquay too, in Porth, but in a rented caravan. Oh yikes, I hope the camping is not too bad. I'm already trying to put together a list of indoor things to do with the kids lol. I really hope we both can find at least one good day with some sunshine on the beach! Fingers crossed!!

Fingers crossed here too! Don’t know what I’m going to do to entertain my two in a tent in the rain. We were really hoping for beach weather too 😩

If you see a very short woman (just under 5 foot) running very slowly and with a face like a tomato that’s me πŸ˜‚

:-D hope you found a lovely sunny day for a post-graduation run. Mines was Sunday evening. I think the thunderstorm Saturday night wiped out the rain for us. Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

I did thanks, went out twice during the week away. That storm on Saturday night was epic wasn’t it! I went out on Monday and Friday I think. Those hills are an absolute killer though, had to walk up the really steep bits (61m elevation!) and managed 2.5k in 20 mins one day (the downhills are nice and easy and fast!) and about 3k another day. Got a day in the outdoor pool and a day on the beach so wasn’t too bad in the end. How did you get on?

I did 5k but in 40 mins right by the coast, so the same speed as you, it was gentle climbs, but uneven rocky path and I stopped to take a few pics. Very tricky but it's my first holiday run, so scenic 😍 You done well with those climbs. We only spent a few days there, a full day at the beach, other at museum and food festival. Lol, yeah it felt like the thunderstorm was right above our heads, I couldn't sleep till it was over (about 3 in the morning). Sounds like you all done went in the tent. Back to home sweet home! 😊

So enjoy your success, surely even more special as this was attempt number 4. Brilliant perseverance! Congratulations! I do hope that Cornwall goes well. Also, amazing to hear your plans fore post C25k!
