At lunchtime I ran for 25 minutes straight.
This afternoon I was out of breath and hurting, climbing a very short staircase at London Bridge.
Go figure.

Snap. They've introduced some daily horror story that involves everyone coming off the Jubilee Line walking up hundreds of thousands of twisted steep steps with bats and cobwebs and hordes of rampaging French school children. Just to be able fight through the Underground Ticket Hall so you can then refuse to buy anything from Hamley's or Cath Kidstone (big "WHY??" to both) on your way to get to a train that will be cancelled anyway because everyone at SouthEastern Railways would rather be a concert violinist than run a train company properly!!!
It's evil I tell you, evil...
Gosh. That was exhausting too.
Sounds like something out of Harry Potter! Are you sure you're on the London Underground & you haven't fallen through a portal into an alternate universe? 😂😂
It's a parallel zombie universe called "If they're stupid enough to travel by train, we'll show them". Accompanied by frenzied maniacal laughter and the pushing of long pointy hat pins into the wax figures of Matty and I.....
That would make a good ride at a theme park!
Ha ha I know what you mean! Run 30 minutes then struggle going upstairs when i get home!
I know that feeling well. I can run for an our, but still get out of breath climbing up the stairs at St Pancras. Maybe we need a playlist to keep us motivated - it works for my running. LOL
It is strange though isn’t it? I keep thinking I should be getting generally more spritely but if so it’s a v slow process.
Matthew. It occurs to me that you "ran for 25 minutes straight". Did you get a taxi back to the starting line after your straight line of running? Or was it really 50 minutes in total, factoring in the return trip? Because that would be heretical and against the rules. And we don't want you to be "chastised" by any grown ups. Because you're our friend....
being able to run and being able to run up stairs are two quite different things. Mt Everest is less than 10km at its summit, but I doubt Mo Farah oculd run it in 28 mins.
I live in London and am on antihistamines today, the pollution here is terrible. It makes me feel like I am dragging myself around and been for a massive run. so it could be that.
It’s weird isn’t it! Sometimes I walk the dogs the route I’ve just run and I feel more tired than when I’ve run it 😂😂
Enjoyment exercise... run... Endurance exercise..staircase
