Week 2 Run 1 under my belt.

I left Yorkshire for Dorset last week for a long weekend visit to my sister. I took my running gear. I went out for a run! Really quite proud of myself as it would have been very easy to find excuses for not getting out.

I went with my sister - the first time I've not run solo - and enjoyed it. Dealt well with the extra 30 seconds of running this week, though the first one felt like closer to two minutes! She was a little ahead of me with each run but I didn't try to keep up, just stuck to my own pace and caught up with her on the walks. Oddly enough, we found I'm a faster walker than her but a slower jogger!

I didn't feel the run in my muscles the next day though, as I have before. I wonder if I am taking it a teeny bit *too* easy with my jogs..?

If you can have a normal conversation you are not taking it too easy. Sounds like a great run with your sister and you didn't fall into the trap of going at her pace. Running/walking often evens out in the end. As the runs get longer going slowly is the best way to get through them. I'd graduate first then think about going faster but then I am old 😄

Thanks for that, Annie.

Glad to know that I seem to be doing the right thing in taking it easy at the moment!
