Did run 2 fairly comfortably on Tuesday but run 3 with 20 mins of non stop running seems daunting in particular how to pace myself for the entire run. Any tips?

Start off at a very relaxed pace and just keep this pace up. It’s all mind games now. You’ll be very surprised what you can achieve now. My monies on that you smashing it!

Thanks for your confidence in me. Will be in the park @ 6.45 in the morning before going to work.

Slowly.

You have already done a workout where you ran for 16 minutes and brisk walked for 5 minutes, so, unless you are some strange kind of individual who expends no effort walking briskly, you have already done a longer workout than W5R3.

This is the stage of the plan where you have to learn to believe in the plan and in yourself. You can do this.

Relax and do pre run gurning in front of a mirror, distorting your face as much as possible. The aim of this is to prepare your face muscles for the grin that will be fixed on your face for the next few days.

Thanks for your advice. I'm sure it will be fine once I get going.

Well done, but this world shattering declaration is hidden away at the bottom of your old post.........hardly anyone will see it here.

Tell the world with a new post, it deserves it!

Start week 8 tmrw. Even did an extra 5 mins on one of my week 7, 25min runs. My Race for Life is in 4 weeks so hopefully will be able to run 5K by then even if it's slowly.

Excellent! Pleased to hear it’s still going well. Sounds like you’ll be in really good shape for the RFL. Good luck!

As others have said, slow and steady! Also in found a good radio show / podcast / audio book to completely distract you. Get in a rhythm, listen to your thing, don't think too much and before you know it you're a legend!!!
