Week 1, run 1 done.. phew!!

I tried to coax friends and family into this with me...to no avail. So yesterday a determined me started it alone.

The brisk 5 mins walk was fine... as I started running my knee (previous minor-ish knee ligament damage) started hurting, then my calves started burning... a lot!! Halfway through I had to really push through the burning calves...i nearly quit. But I didn't... thankfully and I felt triumphant for it 😊 Funnily my knee stopped hurting. I will keep an eye on it.

Next run scheduled for tomorrow... I really hope it won't be raining!! ,😕

Well done, your friends and family may well join you when they see the amazing results.

The guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... is full of tips.

Keep your stride short, avoid heelstrike and get the best shoes you can afford after a gait analysis, to reduce the impact on your former injury.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done for starting on your own. Yesterday was my week one, run one too, but I'm using a treadmill in my garage. It will be a few weeks before i'm brave enough to run in public. I enjoyed yesterday and am looking forward to tomorrow. Keep up your good work :)
