Completed W1 & getting ready to do W1 again!

Just finished W1 and it's clear that I'm going to have to do it again! I can't get through the 90 second walks without having to stop, although I do do the runs non-stop.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Half way through run #3 tonight I started asking myself why the hell I was doing this.

I’m only at the same stage as you, but I bet the advice from people in the know is likely to be slow down! I was so slow in bits of my run it was almost embarrassing! Keep going we will all be much fitter before too long!

I did Week 1 three times! I was sooo relieved to get to Week 2 but I did the first run of that week twice. I’m now on Week 7 and hope to graduate in early May. It can definitely be done and I’m sure you will. It’s worth doing if you feel you need to, if just to build your confidence up.

I am definitely no expert, having only started this on Sunday, but in my 90 second recovery walks I took them quite steadily rather than too briskly as the podcast suggests. Maybe slow down a bit in your walks and see if that helps?

I am going sooooo slow in the 90 second walks. But hey, im sure I'll get there eventually.

You're going too fast.

There is always slower, unbelievable I know. Don't lose heart, if you have to repeat, repeat. Nine weeks, Schwine weeks.... it's a goal, but not in tablets of stone.

You will do this 🤗

Slow down is my advice. Find a pace that is sustainable and you will be set up for the rest of the programme :) DON'T GIVE UP!

Keep going! You're already miles further ahead than you think you are in terms of effort and attitude. Keep reading the posts for great advice, encouragement and inspiration

Thank you!

Try to slow your breathing to long deep breaths. On your rest days try to do breathing exercises. I thought that when you run you have to breathe faster to get the oxygen in but I found that I can run further when my breathing is slower and deeper. Slowing your breathing also lowers your heart rate which is good for the longer distances. My w1 I was breathing out of my bum and gasping for breath. You can do this. Here if you support or advice ok😊

Keep going! I’m on week 2 and I found run 1 really hard but I am determined to keep going just very very slowly! We can do this! 😃
