Saw a sports physio today about my creaky knees. Gutted, I have to stop running for about 8 weeks to try to correct it.

Was only up to W3R3 but really loving it. Didn't recognise myself off to the gym 3x a week even after work!

It's pre-existing rather than a sports injury so glad I got it sorted out before I did any real damage.

You'll probably all have graduated by the time I can start again, so good luck everyone. I'll be watching jealously from the exercise bike and cheering you all on πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ‘πŸ»

Sorry to hear your knee injury has knocked you back, that must be so frustrating. I am still having problems with my knee, but it seems to recover quite quickly after each run so I'm hoping it's not anything serious. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thank you! I wish I had listened a bit more carefully to my body (over the last year) but at least action is now being taken. I hope your knees keep up the good work!

Well done you... you will get there I promise you... I have come back from broken ribs, ( 6 weeks) a calf tear..(10 weeks)....and five weeks on the IC with trapped Sciatic nerve...and there are folk who have come back from much longer spells on the IC...

You are determined and were doing so well and you will carry that on...and rest assured... the runs and we will still be here... waiting for your posts:)

That's such a shame! I'm also on week 3 and had you down as one of my virtual running mates!! Sorry if that sounds creepy! Good luck, recover well and let us know when you're up and running.

Haha! Not at all, I think it's nice to find people at a similar stage of progress. Good luck to you too - keep up the good work. It'll motivate me to do my physio exercises seeing everyone progress.

Exercise bike? That’s brilliant though - my favourite, actually the only, bit of gym equipment I ever liked. (I gym no more.) does that mean you can scope out running routes on a real bike? Don’t be a stranger!

I’m sorry for your news, I know how it can feel, I had to stop for 12 weeks due to a frozen shoulder and it felt awful, but I did find that coming on here and supporting others helped to keep me eager and as soon as I could I was running again, hehe I even ran back from the physio appointment as soon as they told me. If you are still ok to walk please come over and join us on the Active 10 walking forum we will keep you going, speedy recovery and many years of running afterwards.

Good luck with the knees. Sounds like you are already quite fit and so will speed your recovery. It is so frustrating but just reassure yourself that once you are back in the ball game you are going to enjoy it that much more. It gets easier to click back in every time . Are you allowed to do fast walking or even medium paced? Any regular walking keeps up your fitness. I have had many long breaks due to illness and injury. I've learnt how to take a few steps back from where I was and train myself back up again. See u back here in a few weeks time. By that time I am hoping I have managed to finish.(We'll see) Still not quite there! Take care. xx

Oh no! Poor you. I had to stop in week 2 of my first C25K attempt - knee problem for me too. I took 6 weeks off; very frustrating, particularly as I'm not known for my patience, but I think it made me more determined than ever. I spent lot of time on this forum and knew so much more when I restarted. By then I had read many inspirational stories and was armed with all the support you find here. It's almost a year now since I restarted. I completed the program in 9 weeks with no further issues. Since then I've had other spells on the IC, but never because of my knee. I've had lots of fun and feel a huge sense of achievement. Looking back, the injury breaks have been small in comparison to the running time. You will be back, and you have it all to look forward to. May patience be with you and your recovery be speedy. Running will wait for you :)

I feel your pain.πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜” Have you put the 8 week date in your calender yet? I've heard that the elliptical trainer is often still allowed with injuries. As you say, at least it's been caught early. Fingers crossed for your recovery 🀞 be kind to yourself 🌻🌼🌻
