Hiya and welcome to a new week.

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Watching the C25k on breakfast this morning, busy with other stuff🙈😂😂, caught the final shot and was immediately excited when Carol introduced Tim, not our IannodaTruffe.🤔🙈

Tim Jones.

Just another senior moment.🙈😂😂

With our Mentor’s distinctive photo.🤔😂😂👏👏🌟🙈

Do not know what I was thinking about.🙈🙈 Off to do my training.👏👏👍

Ha,I saw that too Tbae, the lovely Laura whose voice took many of us from the couch to becoming runners was great to see though...

The relaunch of the app means they have Laura available as a coach now, to run with using your own music.. what a winning combination! Well done OneYou😊...

Good morning Jan, I’m still on the IC going stir crazy. Been told I’ll be out of action for 3weeks.....could’ve been worse I suppose 🙄

I had a 1hour session with a Sports Physio last Thurs and at times I thought ‘Am I really paying for this lady to put me through all this pain’ I could have hit her a couple of times 😖😜 Still, as they say, ‘No pain no gain’ 😊

Been doing my Cardio and Core exercises, off to the Gym in a bit, must keep the fitness levels up. Us old ‘uns lose it quickly if we don’t keep on top of it!

Enjoy your week guys, whatever you’re doing 🏃‍♀️🏃

Hi Ted, three weeks😐...but, I'm glad you are getting professional help, and can keep up the cardio and core work...

No doubt, when you start running again you will need to ease in gently and build..

Keep motivated by reading the posts on here, you can run with us virtually, and cheer on the new runners😊xx

Ease in gently, yes Jan indeed. My mistake, after the shin injury, was too much too soon.....won’t do that again 😐

Morning lovely Jan.

I managed a relaxed 45 minute run this morning, lovely morning here...... 😀 Spring has sprung hopefully🌸

Bluebirdrunner profile image
BluebirdrunnerGraduate in reply to Millsie-J

Oooh thats brilliant Millsie...45 mins!😊

Its nice and sunny here, my run is this afternoon, somewhere new, while hubby is blood doning... looking forward to it... (I won't be doing 45 mins though😆) I may do the app with Laura chatting to me for 30 mins...

The weather is changing later in the week...

One more run of week seven left to go - looking forward to week eight and have come down with a bug. Hope it is fleeting - and looking forward to spring!

The new version of the app, with Laura as a coach leaves me with a dilemma... Do I see out the last two weeks of the plan with the trusty podcasts (and that perennial favourite, Julie!), or do I download the app and still have Laura, but try a spotify playlist (if only I could remember who it is on here who's done some running playlists which sound like my kind of thing...!). Hmmm, choices, choices...!

Bluebirdrunner profile image
BluebirdrunnerGraduate in reply to RainbowC

Ha, do one of each week with the podcast and a couple with the app maybe...

I just did Wk1 R1 and R2 of the app with Laura on my run, just so I could enjoy my own music with Laura chatting to me! Bit of a novelty 😉xx

Not to creepy I hope😆...

So last week after approx. 2-3 months out I started to run again. I think I started off a bit too much too soon and had a knee niggle on Thursday.

My last run was on Friday and have rested over the weekend. Today is another planned run, beautiful weather and lighter evenings!! :-) .

Problem is, although there is no pain in the knee it's still feeling a bit off if that makes sense.

Do I run again or rest more?

Bluebirdrunner profile image
BluebirdrunnerGraduate in reply to saul01

I think err on the side of caution Saul, maybe put your gear on a do a little walk/run to see if there is an issue...then next time you will feel more confident...😊x

saul01 profile image
saul01Graduate in reply to Bluebirdrunner

That's what I was thinking, same as Friday I'll start and see how it goes. It's weird there's no pain or anything, maybe a decent knee support is needed. I have one of those knee straps which i've had on over the weekend, not seen any real difference with it though.

Bluebirdrunner profile image
BluebirdrunnerGraduate in reply to saul01

Could just be the 2-3months out and your knees objecting to the impact again... see how it goes, are you breaking back in gently...no need to push yourself. Run/walk would be fine...😊x

I think you are right, with the knee not being too happy with me impacting 4K on it all of a sudden. Today's run went well managed to do a full 5K without any niggles and the knee didn't say anything.

I am running a lot slower than my normal pace and will keep this up until my fitness level, muscle strength is back to normal.

Have 2 runs to go to graduation - excited and a bit sad that I'm going to lose the structure of the app - I do like being told what to do!

Inspired by seeing Laura and her fellow runners on BBC Breakfast this morning - go C25K!!😀🏃‍♀️

Bluebirdrunner profile image
BluebirdrunnerGraduate in reply to JoP61

Go JoP61...and enjoy your last two runs..don't worry though, plenty of new things to try once you graduate😊x

I am luxuriating in the thought of my next 2 runs and graduation! Looking forward to next steps as well..........😃

So it's the morning after the run and it seems like the old knee has sorted itself out. 🤔🤔

No pain or weird walking, looks like it just wanted me to push harder😂😂

Will keep you guy's posted if anything changes, but for the time being it's definitely to infinity and beyond!!

I just did W8R1 today and it felt great! Always a challenge, but today was enjoyable, and I wasn't too exhausted at the end. I can't believe it. Just 5 runs left until graduation! 8 weeks ago I had no idea if I could do this. :D And not only that, but I love running. I know not everyone does. I truly enjoy being out running three days a week, I even like the bad runs. :D

Looks as though I'm going to be doing vertical swimming rather than running tonight, unless the rain eases off! Ah well, it'll keep me cool I suppose, and might mean there aren't too many other people around whether I go for two laps of the park, or down the main road and back...

Hi Jan, Thought this might be interesting to some.🤔

msdmanual.com

Overview of the respiratory system.

By Noah Lechtzin.

Consumer version or professional version.

Even shows a video of all three phases.

Of course it is complex but , maybe that is helpful to

Consolidate a mind set to keep it simple.

The CO2 toxicity, etc is really the only thing that gets close to toxic ten🤔. I think that term medically refers to a skin condition.🤔

It is just an area that needs a standard simple reply.🤔

It gives a lot of opportunity to come up with a fuller uncomplicated description.

Someone probably has.🤔

This is not meant to be paralysis of analysis.🤔😂😂😂

Just searching around. It is a hugely beneficial medical area.🤔👏👏

I think most people are just interested to know that its normal for everyone, and that by going steady they can push through it and feel better as they get into the run... 😊xx

I had vaguely thought about doing my w8r3 tonight rather than tomorrow - but by the time I got home from church things it was 4.45pm, I hadn’t had time for any lunch, and the rain was absolutely heaving down. So Plan A remains - get up tomorrow morning (not especially early!), sort out a few things for Mr Rainbow then go for my run before taking DD2 to the O2 arena for a very loud evening... I’m NOT going to miss scheduled runs now the end of the beginning is so nearly in sight!

Bluebirdrunner profile image
BluebirdrunnerGraduate in reply to RainbowC

Hope its dry for your run tomorrow😊x

RainbowC profile image
RainbowCGraduate in reply to Bluebirdrunner

Gah. Took 2 1/2 hours to sort the things for Mr Rainbow, and I’ve got an intermittent stabbing pain in the side of my foot. No run for me today... :(

Bluebirdrunner profile image
BluebirdrunnerGraduate in reply to RainbowC

Never mind... it looks cold and damp outside, hope your foot is ok.

The runs will wait :)
