W6 R3 -New Trainers ouch

My husband treated me to new trainers for my birthday. Went to Run4it and had gait analysis (supination on right foot). Tried several pairs and settled on Asics. Running with them for first time today on treadmill and about 15 minutes in balls of feet were burning. Guy in shop told me to use treadmill 1st couple of times as I can bring them back if any problems. Do you think this is just normal part of feet getting used to new shoe? I didn't have my proper socks on either so will try on Wednesday with better socks and laces slightly less tight! Anyway 25 minutes done ✅

Could be the socks or the shoes are laced too tight. It is a good idea to give it another go with proper socks and a looser lacing (or try a different lacing?). Do you normally run on the treadmill? I find my feet are less happy (as is my mind 😜) running on the treadmill.

Thanks - i'm going to try both of those suggestions next run. I have been running on treadmill due to bad weather and also, if I'm honest, as I don't like to be seen out running in daylight (ridiculous I know). I much prefer outside so will run outside on Wednesday as go at 5am before work. Reluctant to try them outside though as then I can't return - will wear old trainers on Wednesday - then try new one on treadmill with better socks on Friday 😁 Thanks for your help 👍

Sounds like a great plan

Correctly fitting new shoes should be right from the off, are you using running socks? If the shoes are too big feet can move around in them causing blisters on the soles you could try relacing using the very top hole if this is so..

Overtightening laces can also cause discomfort..

My they are lovely.........I’m an asics girl 😍, what a gorgeous colour! Hope you get sorted, could well be just the socks....and/or lacing too loose/tight....my feet feel really weird if I put my running shoes on without proper running socks......that was just for a walk, and it really was odd...

Anyway, hope it works out, it would very sad to have to take those beauties back....

Thanks Madge - I definitely don't want want to return them- I didn't bother with running socks because I was running on treadmill - I am hoping this was the issue 🙏

I over did the tightening of the laces at first. Slackening them off but not too much as you want them snug around your ankles Socks are key! It could be just a combo of those two things If after that they still bother you then the shop will sort you out with some new ones

They are very beautiful. Stroke, purr 😁
