For any of you who have wanted to lose weight..when did you start noticing you have..I would have thought I would have even lost 1 pound after nearly ending 7 weeks..my diet is healthy so just wondered did anyone else struggle...appericiate its different for each person.

I have changed my eating habits too, but at week 8, I’ve lost over half a stone and my waist is 2 inches smaller! Probably fluke, lol... I’m 41- I wasn’t overweight before but losing a bit is great!

C25k is not a weight loss plan, as advised in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5..., but I would bet you have toned up and lost inches and are much fitter.

A diet of healthy ingredients does not guarantee weight loss. To lose weight you need to be in calorie deficit and if your diet has not changed, then doing a 30 minute workout three times per week is not going to burn enough calories to make a difference. reducing calorie intake is the only way. Once you can run for an hour or more, you will find that weight drops off much more readily.

Thanks I am aware of the calories and the content of the foods it needs to be both diet and exercise to lose weight..as with what we were taught but sometimes putting it into practice can be different than to the theory taught at uni...

As IannodaTruffe says..you may find no weight loss, but toned and fitter? It comes...:)

No, it's the same as it's always been, eat less excercise more, but then you know that?

Drinking enough water and staying hydrated also helps with weight loss....

I went into this with 3 goals. To tone up, get fit and lose weight. It’s taken me 7 months and I’ve met all three. Change of diet and drinking lots of water, especially when I felt I needed a snack, really helped. No more chocolate or rice and only one glass of wine with dinner did the trick for me. My wife found a recipe for cauliflower rice and, while not being quite my thing, it helped to bulk out the curries etc. I’ve lost 10kg so far and nearly at my target weight. 😀 Belly fat is still hanging around mind you. 🤨

Good to know it can be done. Effort is paid off when you see the results. Great achievement of weight loss and you have met your target which is a major motivational factor to keep going on.

I’ve been doing slimming world and c25k. After week one I was shocked as I had put 1/2 a pound on but the following week I lost 6 and a half pound. So you can lose weight by doing it but be careful not to eat extra food as you think I can eat more as I’ve been running. I’m now entering wk7 and so far I’ve lost 2st2lb. I did start slimming world about 2 weeks before I started c25k. And from week 5 I joined the gym

Thats great, what an achievement.

I started this program initially to become fitter and for weight loss - I became very disheartened through the whole 9'weeks as my clothes became much looser , I looked smaller but the scales did not budge in fact they sometimes showed a weight gain at the end of the week, I carried on with the running as I felt so much better in myself and people commented regularly I had lost weight, I then decided to measure myself and I had in fact lost inches - but one thing I did realise was when I over indulged (Christmas ,holiday, etc) ) I didn't put weight on,

Wow, thats great that you carried on and you burnt the calories...just out of curiosity when you completed 9 weeks..did you continue to run 5k 3 times a week or plan it differently?

I tried other podcasts but found them very difficult - most of the time I repeat week 9 I like being told what to do - and whilst doing my C25K. by week 9 I hadn’t reached 5 k so I try and build up speed and distance (I am a very slow steady jogger )!x

Thanks, yeah I like jogging aswell as im always afraid of getting too tired towards the end of each run. Ita great you made it to week 9..im going to start week 8 and its scary x

I also do slimming world at the same time and have lost a little. It has, however, been very slow and through weeks 7 - 9 of the programme I have maintained my weight rather than lost any. I have lost inches though and my legs especially are definitely more toned.

I’m just trying to be patient and know that I’m getting fitter.

I’m no expert but I’m guessing being fitter and losing it slowly is better for you anyway 🤷‍♀️

Yep the slower the better like you say...guess it makes you feel better emotionally aswell so it has a buzz to it..knowing you are determined to complete the programme
