Much slower than run 1 on Tuesday! Knee killing again and headache as soon as set off. How come 2nd runs are harder?! Kept going though at snail’s pace so not to stop 🙄

The main thing is that you did it. That’s a brilliant achievement. Just go steady and slow, build it up and you will start feeling better. Just make sure those running pains are just that and not another condition that needs attention.

Thanks. First run I haven’t really enjoyed. Think I went out too soon after my tea too 😳😂

Probably a factor. I prefer running before dinner... food tastes better after the effort and you don't get that heavy tummy feeling 👎

But you did it... another one done! ✔😁

If you have problems with your knee try a patella strap. You can pick them up quite cheap but try to get one that’s adjustable with a Velcro strap. It gives you just enough support without resorting to painkillers. Hope that helps

It is a thought..but at this stage, exercises and getting the correct diagnosis of the problems is advised... if you need painkillers to get through the run, then the run shouldn't happen.

Just clarifying that for any newbies running, in my role as a worrying old nanny :)

I’ll get checked 👍🏽

Congratulations, Tasha99. It's not easy when you don't feel 100% but you finished it; well done.

I always run at a snail's pace and also found the second run harder than the first; maybe because I did it after a full-on day at work when I was already dog tired. You've done Parkruns (very impressive) and loads of walking in between runs recently so perhaps your body is telling you to rest up a little.

We've got a few weeks to go before week 9 and we should try to get there together but in the meantime we must look after ourselves.

Awesome, great effort, I hope I have the same determination. Just keep going as everyone says to me🤣

Hey, you're got the most important lesson down pat "Kept going though at snail’s pace so not to stop" so you've got this! :)

Headache is never fun - mine is more likely to grumble if I've messed up my timings with tea or not impersonated a camel in my water consumption over the day.

Yes I think water could be the issue

Hi Tasha I hurt my knee trying to push through the runs. I had to stop for 2 weeks to rest. It’s wirth the restart. Well done and keep going. I’m on w5r2, just hoping the snow stays away this weekend.

You did right..if in pain.. stop.. it is hard but the runs remain :) Well done!

Please take care... if the knee is really painful. don't run. We ignore pain at our peril. I know that sounds dramatic, but the run will still be there, when the knee feels better. If you run slightly under par, ( I don't mean just not feeling like it) it is not a great idea.

At best, you don;t enjoy it, at worst you may be compounding an issue. Rest up and head out again, feeling stronger... tale it slowly and then slow down even more... and there is always slower; take it form the original grey snail :)
