Gone backwards...๐Ÿ˜ž

The combination of a heavy head cold, snow/ice on the ground and being abroad for a few days has set me back and I am feeling dispondent. On Monday 26th Feb Iโ€™d done W9R1. I ran on a treadmill, in a stuffy & hot hotel gym, over the three days away but only managed 20mins running or 3k total then Iโ€™d had enough. I want to go out today as the sun is shining but donโ€™t feel I can do W9R2 straight off. Should I try it and see how it goes or dial it back to a shorter run ? Advice & encouragement please!

A run is still a run. I would redo your previous run, try to boost your confidence! Iโ€™m in the same boat - but week 6! Youโ€™re still lapping those still sat on the sofa!! ๐Ÿ‘

You will only know what you can do by trying.

If you can't complete then you repeat.

Itโ€™s tough at the moment, snow and ice still on the Paths, plus you have a head cold. Go out and give it a go, but a head cold does not help, you may not have your full energy. Try it, if it works out, great, but if you do find it tough going relax, youโ€™ll do it the next time, write it off as a training run.

Iโ€™m in the same boat. I have not run in over a week. And now my back is out of action. Pulled a muscle after shovelling snow off our driveway. Itโ€™s in a spasm now.

First up, stop worrying and cheer up. Running is meant to be fun and life-affirming ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘

You can do it! Just cut yourself some slack, be a bit Zen and jog on. Slow and steady ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

Yep.. what MissW says... cheer up. Don't beat yourself up. Just get out there and give it a go!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜

Hi please donโ€™t fret we all get the collywobbles from time to time. A rest can often be very beneficial to your running. Why not just go out and see how far a continuous run takes you? Take it nice and slow donโ€™t put any pressure on yourself to โ€˜performโ€™ and you may be surprised.

You earlier run wasnโ€™t wasted itโ€™s out a few kms and more stamina in your running bank and that will help you in your future running life.

Good luck in the sun and open u have a happy run
