I don’t want to sound smug or patronising but for all those who are dreading this run, here is my advice. First, get yourself in the right frame of mind, it’s a challenge, face it square on. I found after 5 mins, that damn monkey on my shoulder started telling me “give up, your legs hurt, why you doing this” but I ignored it and pushed on. It tried again but I got through it by focusing on my rhythm and pace. By the time Michael said “you’ve run for 12.5 mins” I thought ¥$€^ is that all I’ve done, but gradually and magically over the next ten minutes, my legs didn’t hurt so much, my breathing had settled and I was kind of enjoying it! I’m not going to lie and say it was easy but by the time I’d done 25 minutes, I could have carried on and oh my word the feeling of achievement is so worth it, so, get your game face on, take it easy, find your pace and go for it.

The happy pace...it is so great when your legs find it... slow and steady as you relax into these longer runs.. Delight not dread and anticipation not apprehension for the runs to come.
Wonderful
