Did it despite the stupid headphones

Managed W5R1 this morning despite the fact that my stupid earphones kept popping out every couple of minutes! My ears must be a peculiar shape or something.

Anyway, I've now ordered some on-ear headphones as recommended by RainbowC yesterday. Thanks RainbowC!

Perhaps the headphone shenanigans distracted me from the fact that I had to do three 5-minute runs! Was quite tough but I felt that the third run was actually easier than the second. Mind you, I was slow and steady.

Onwards and upwards. Or, as in my case, onwards and running on the flat wherever possible!

I wear a buff; I love them as they're bright and colourful, they wick the sweat, they hold my hair back and they hold my headphones in! You can fold them loads of ways to whatever suits you too.

I find they're always soaking wet when I get back from a run but I no longer suffer from sweat trickling down my back or neck from my head which I used to find irritating and itchy. The other morning it was so cold, my buff even formed a crust of frost but I was toasty!

My headphones also didn't stay in but one ear is a different shape to the other so changing headphones was never really going to work for me; the buff has solved it though!

Happy running!

Ha! My ears seem to have some sort of ejector button for the in-ear phones.

After wasting money on two sets of bluetooth in-ear phones that fell out I've been running in a "beanie" hat which has little bluetooth pods in it and keeps your head warm too. It was only £7 but obviously that won't work in the summer so maybe another visit to Amazon is on the cards. I did try out a pair of "titanium bone-conduction" phones in a shop the other day and they were amazing, but they cost £100.

I must have that ejector button too! The hat sounds like a good option. Or those headphones if I win the Lottery!

Happy running.

Well done! I did W5r1 a couple of days ago - carefully choosing a nice flat route (actually very easy to find where I live now!). DD1 did it with me, then the next day decided that she needed to go for another run, and texted me to let me know that she had just run non-stop upthe local big hill! 😳 I’m not brave enough to try that yet...!

I hope the new headphones work for you and let the music be the distraction! ;)

Happy running! :)

Thank you! Luckily it is mostly flat round here - I'm definitely not ready for hills yet. Where I lived before was all hills, so I doubt that I would have even thought about starting C25K when I lived there.

I'm excited about the new headphones - I've actually had no end of trouble with the current ones, which doesn't help when you're trying to get into a rhythm.

Week 5 Run 2 is quite daunting, so I am going to choose some really inspirational music to help me keep going (although Sarah Millican is pretty good at keeping me at it too)!

Happy running.
