First week completed - excuse for photo

Another glorious day in the Isle of Man and another run on the flat Promenade of Douglas. It feels a bit like cheating as there are NO hills, what with the sea being level and all that, but there is always a wind. This time it helped me on the return leg but I do wonder if tail and head winds equal out? Today was my third run of Week 1 in my attempt at rehabilitation, and in Laura's 31+ minutes I covered 2.88 miles in a pace of 11.08 minutes per mile. Quicker and further than Tuesday, so it must have been a Kind Wind today.....

The avatar is the result of an annual 85 mile non stop walking race I take part in with about 1500 others. That picture is more famous than I will ever be.....

Very nice! have been there a few times for The TT, you could always try running the mountain course!😁

Cycled it and race walked it a few times, but mostly I put in a couple of laps a week on my Triumph Street Triple or Bonneville - much easier..... So lucky to live, walk, run and motorcycle here.

That's cool, getting to ride on the pavement. I assume there's a slow speed limit ??

Well done on completing your first week!

My other half has a friend who lives on the island and went over for last year’s TT. I’m hoping to visit at some point this year. Hopefully I’ll have finished by then (I’m on w8 r3) and can match your photo :)

We have visited many many times for TT week over the years. But davelinks has a point, are there mountain races over there.....running I mean.

TT is a great time to visit as you already know. But yes - lots of fell and mountain running, and a big athletics community over here. There is an Easter Festival of running, from Marathon down to 5k races, worth a visit if you want some running fun. Racewalking is big here, with a few locals close to Olympic standard. Cycling is also huge - with Olympic medallists Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh from my village. We have TWO gold post boxes, and about eight Manxies in the various Great Britain cycling teams.
