Wk 2 R1 - early days but feeling proud!

Just completed Wk2, R1, my 3rd week running as I repeated week 1. Feeling really pleased with myself - didn’t think I could run for more than 60 seconds but it wasn’t as hard as I expected. Now I’m running with my head up, I realised that My route takes me up a hill on the way back (well, a slope anyway!) Think I might revise when the runs become longer if I’m struggling. Also I can see that the weather might be a problem at some point - windy and rainy this morning. Don’t want to resort to running indoors unless I absolutely have to. Any tips for running in bad weather?

Well done! It'll get easier for your body and after a few weeks you'll be running up the hills and smiling! My body changed between week 3 and week 5 - I could feel my lungs getting more efficient and my body felt leaner. I get such lovely feelings of wellbeing after every run I go out in all weathers except ice! The best ever music on NHS app is week 6 :)

Keep it up X

Bad weather? Just do it!... unless it’s slippery , then absolutely do not! (I’m still slowly recovering from a fall four weeks ago)

Wrap up/cover up and just go for it... surprisingly, once you’re moving, you don’t notice the rain as much!

Oh, and a hat... a lovely forum dwellers explained to me that you can get runners caps with ventilation panels in 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

For bad weather just get out and do it. You'll feel like a hero. Experiment with clothing to see what works for you. Doesn't have to be running specific stuff to wear.

And good luck on that hill. It's hard while you do it but hills will make you a great runner.
