So having to have a X-ray now on my pelvis because every time I run now I get pain that starts off on my hip and radiates down to my knee cap ๐Ÿค” Iโ€™m upset that I wonโ€™t be able to continue with my running that I love because of this problem x

Really sorry to hear this. Don't despair: wait for the results, it may not be doom and gloom. There may be exercises you can do to strengthen the hip so you can keep running, if it does seem there is a problem. Times and attitudes to running have changed, and I think the ethos is one of keeping people as active as possible.

I know the feeling M. I'm restarting the programme from scratch after a three month layoff. Days one and two have gone well, but I'm still worried my hip might knackered me yet. A lot of good resources to help now though as Floss says. Wishing only good things for you.

I know the pain you are feeling. I was laying on the floor for 3 weeks in bedroom after doctors put me there and x - rayed me with a portable x ray machine but could not find anything wrong!!! ,they left me there. Eventually I was literally carried to a chiropractitioner who diagnosed me just be looking at me. I had a twisted pelvis and I had pains in hip/pelvis ,lower back and down to the knee.

He put me on his bed and said he would put it back for me ,I fainted at the thought but it was less painful than a pin prick,in fact no pain at all. Funny thing was I could dig the garden go for long brisk walks and no problem yet sit on the floor and it would go out again.

Not sure if this is what you may have but do not despair as it is easily fixed and with good exercise to strengthen muscles around the pelvis you will good as new. Brisk walking did the trick for my muscles but advice from your doctor first would be wise.

Yeah I do lots of walking anyway as I donโ€™t drive so we walk everywhere. First of all I had pain in my left then I disappeared and now returned on the other side. X

It is remarkable what some of the alternative practices can achieve. A mate of mine, who had consulted his GP about his debilitating back problems to no avail, virtually crawled into the treatment room of a lady who applied only finger tip pressure to different points on his spine, and walked out and had no further trouble.

I often think that NHS physiotherapy is very hands off and wonder whether this is because it is the most effective or just because it is least likely to lead to litigation.

Don't give up. Explore all avenues. Good luck.
