Week 4 Run 1 completed. I have put on 1.5lbs this week :( Was bit worried about having to run for 5 minutes. On my way out my neighbour saw me in my running gear. I have kept it a secret up until now. Also i had 2 runners pass me, at least they were runners, last week i had a walker pass me carrying 2 heavy shopping bags...the shame. Glad its dark when i go out.

I’ve just done Week 4 Run 1 too! I much prefer running in the dark - I’m a lot less visible to others 😃 don’t worry about the slow pace..tonight my boyfriend had to run off ahead because running at my pace was so slow it hurt his legs! 😂 but as long as you keep going until the end you should be proud 💪🏼

Well done to you too. Week 4 is definitely a step up from last week. Here's to our next slow run.

Slow is good - but yeah, my 13-year-old DD can’t run slow enough to stay with me! Plenty of time later to work on catching her up...! ;)

The weight will come right - unless you think running is an unlimited chocolate license!!

You are doing brilliantly! No worries about being slow that is absolutely fine - you still reap all those runner's benefits. The day will come when you are overtaking people. (Just try not to give them a celebratory slap on the back as you go by!) 😄

Just keep going. As I said in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... this is a running training plan, not a weight loss plan. But you are laying the base for running further in the future, which may well help you lose weight.

You are doing great.

Its funny how running changes things. When I started tbh I was a bit embarrassed to be out plodding along. Strange thing is, without you really realising it, you get stronger and basically more confident. This programme is great for that. Take it steady ( I don't always) and soon you will be whooshing along. Take care

The slowest of us Runners is still a hell of a lot faster than the quickest slob on a sofa ;)

Thank you all for the advice and encouragement. On that note i'm off to run my second run of week 4.

Just did mine, found it a little harder than Monday’s one strangely! How did yours go?

Likewise. I probably went a little too fast in the first 3 minute run. I soon slowed down as soon as I passed the dog walkers, and people at the bus stop. I managed it though. Well done to you too. Here’s to our next run 😁
