It is almost exactly a year ago since I started my Couch to 5K journey. I did it and even managed Park Run a few times, my best time being 32 minutes. I did the Blenheim OX5 run in March (which I only realised on the day was 5 miles, not 5k!) and then...... well, here I am ready to start again. I can't believe I went through all the blood, sweat and tears only to stop once I had achieved my Blenheim goal! Why is it that I gave up? I lost weight, felt amazing and loved the comments about how well I looked etc etc. So, 2018, here we go. I am determined to keep it going this time. I am 56 this year, so it's more important than ever that I keep fit and healthy! Good luck to all those starting their journey. Believe me, it can be done and it is worth every minute!

Good luck you’ve done it once so can definitely achieve it again, I’m similar to you stopped running last summer when holidays got in the way but determined to stick to this time 👍🏻

What you have to do is "develop a habit" of running !!! - such that it becomes just something that you do every day - like cleaning your teeth in the morning, have a cup of coffee/tea in the morning - and as a form of exercise, you have to actually enjoy what you are doing ( this can take many forms) else you will not keep the habit up :)

Doh! Oh well never mind, you’re here now and that’s good! 😃

I did that kilometres/mile mix up. I entered a race just described as a 10 ☺️😁. I flippin did it though. She who dares wins! 😁

I started at 56, going on 57. Still running too thankfully

Good luck with it. Keep us posted 😃💪👍

Hi Rubypaws! I did Week 1 Run 1 yesterday - same as you! Actually it was OK and I feel quite motivated. In fact I was a bit tempted to run a bit further, but glad I didn't as I would probably now be in agony!! Now to get the white wine under control too! Good luck to you too and I will follow your every move!
