You are probably going too fast.......that is what most people do.
Read this guide healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it may help.
C25K is not about pace but duration.
"Exercise regularly??" - this may not apply to you , but I think most here with some running experience would agree that running is a unique cardio exercise option. One which especially involves the legs - bones , muscles, tendons right up to and including the hip. So, for example, fit and experienced cyclists who have marvelous cardio capacity often find that running kills their legs and hips and need to start at the very bottom of the running training tree. So you may indeed have the fitness to start higher up the C25K ladder - but beware!!!!!
If you are a regular running you might, just might be ok starting on week 6 .
If you are not a runner, then you should start at week 1. Running uses different muscles so you need to slowly build your running legs. The C25k programme is a tried and many times tested programme which will get you running for 30 mins whilst protecting against injury as far as is possible to do so.
Good luck.
The point of a nine week programme is to teach you how to do this. People regularly make the mistake of thinking the programme is simply about building physical fitness when it is not (I would argue it isn't even half of it)
It is ironic that the people who struggle most are those who are already fit and active, generally because they've tried to second guess the programme, but I suppose maybe because they 'want it' less (needing it less) so are less willing to just follow it.
