Week 7 run 1

Oh my, I did this run today and things started to hurt!!

I wasn’t overly worried about it as the last run was 25 mins as well and it felt okay but today’s really hurt! I had always been worried about my knees and how they would react but today it was a pain right at the top of my legs towards my groin.... groin strain!?!

Anybody else start to hurt during these longer runs? How did you combat it or is it something that will pass? I guess it’s inevitable that something is going to hurt at some point!

Stretch those muscles out and see how you feel, try sitting on the floor with your back against the sofa, put your feet together , bending your knees up draw your feet up towards your bottom and then spread your knees wide keeping your feet together.

This should open the muscles out and release

massage/rub them vigorously 1st

Warm up really well and then take it very slowly and steadily. try to relax into the longer runs....land lightly and just let the legs take you :)

Plenty of after run stretching too!
