Just been out for my 30 minute run and was wondering why I felt like I’ve been running in a snowsuit as I got back. Just checked out the temperature and it’s a very warm 11 here. No sun of course and in fact a little drizzle in the air. 🌧Another run in daylight for me so I’m definitely building in confidence but still not able to do a park run yet. I’ll keep going until I’m ready. Next run planned for Saturday. 🙋🏻😊

You're a graduate, you can definitely do a Parkrun, if you have to walk for 30 secs so be it, run or walk it doesn't really matter, as long as you keep moving well around the course..😊

It’s silly really but I’m a bit self conscious so don’t feel confident to do it. I always run alone and I’ve only just started to run in daylight. My friend who encouraged me to start running says she would do it with me so maybe in the New Year I will think about it. I know I could do the run but it’s doing it with all the people I worry about. That’s why I won’t go to a gym. My confidence about running has grown so much since I started so hopefully I will do it one day. 😀

OK, I understand, I felt a bit that way when I did my first PR, but absolutely no one judges you, they're wrapped up in their own runs and the volunteer marshalls will spur you on and you will or should start to feel better and relax into it.

Try it when you're ready, every runner should experience a Parkrun..😊

Thank you for your advice. It’s good to know people are welcoming and encouraging. I’ll just have to bite the bullet and try it one day and I’m sure I’ll wonder what I was worrying about. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas whatever you may be doing 🎄🎉🙌🏻😀

It is a bit warm out there today Mind you I wasn’t overdressed while walking the dog 😊

Parkrun is great fun! Don’t be afraid of it! You can walk some you know! If you need to. No pressure at all to be fast Some folks walk all of it 🙂

Give it a whirl. Take some cash for a post run drink and snack. It’s very sociable 👍😃

I think if I just pluck up the courage and do it I will love it just like I love running after always thinking I couldn’t do it. I really need to prove to myself that I can 😊

Just do it! You'll be kicking yourself you didn't do it sooner😊

go along and have a look-see first if you need reassurance. Check out the back of the pack as that’s where the walkers, less able, disabled, walking wounded all hang out. They are a very interesting group of peeps and it's well worth volunteering to give you a better understanding of what Parkrun is actually about. It’s not all about running !

Just been looking up my local park run. Looks good. I'll see if my friend wants to register with me 😵

Out of interest, are you able to share where your local run is? There maybe someone on here willing to buddy up with you for your first time. (But equally understand if you don't want to share that info on an open forum 😊)

Thank you, that is a very kind thought. I think I will try and buddy up with my friend. She’s been asking to go running with me for ages but I usually like to run alone so I don’t have to worry about anything but me and the road ahead. If not I’ll will go along by myself. I’m not shy of talking to anyone. It’s just running in front of them in my sports kit is the problem 😂

That's good you got out thete lovely. I'm bit like you in thst I run alone. Don't mind running with others, but there's no conversation as I can't run and talk, haha 🤣🤣

I'm not really self conscious about going places or the gym, but I think if we feel self conscious, then it has to be worked at over time. Good for you lovely xx
