Diet change & C25K

I used to run quite a bit before I became sick. I was sickly for about 8 years as well as overweight. After all the meds and procedures didn’t work I decided to change my diet after some research and help from others. Went to a plant based diet and in a matter of weeks it changed my life. I dropped 30 lbs in 2 months and started the C25k program. This all started about 18 months ago. As of today I’m down 60lbs and ran fourteen 5k races since last May. My first 5k time was 27:58 and last Saturday I finished in 24:08. I want to get faster so I keep on trucking. I’m 47 and feel great. My favorite 5k was the Pittsburgh Steeler 5k on Labor Day. Drove 8 hours to run that one and it was a blast.

I’d like to see if anyone is in my area that is interested in doing 5k’s. I’d like to have people to meet and enjoy the events. I’m in Central IL.

Matt

Hello and welcome. Sounds like you are doing really great! Well done on your success! Very speedy times too🏅

This forum is aimed at supporting new runners as they build to running for 30 minutes. A few of us achieve 5k in that 30 mins run, but most of us (like me) take longer to cover that distance. But thats ok, this forum isnt about speed or distance, just building to 30 mins running😀

The only reason I say the above is that i think this may not be the best forum for what you are looking for.

Good luck in your ongoing running journey, it sounds like you are having a blast🏃🏻🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻
