Illness

Really disappointed. Was unable to do park run yesterday due to sore throat. Even worse today now in my ears so my planned Mon Weds Fri C25K runs are in jeopardy. How do others cope with illness please. Definitely won't be able to run tomorrow but how long do people leave it before running again? Many thanks. Xx

Always best to rest up when you are ill - see how you feel on Monday, but don't push it if you are not better. Get well soon :)

Personally, I don't run if feeling below par. I like to enjoy my runs and even a minor illness can take the edge off a run. You will come to recognise that when you feel you have recovered enough to function fully in an everyday sense, you may not feel 100% when you submit yourself to sustained physical exertion.

You won't lose much discernible condition up to two weeks not running, so give yourself a break and come back when fully recovered. I hope that is soon.

I agree with IannodaTruffe ... rest up and get back on form :)

Ears are the worst! Always keep them covered with a headband or some such. I wear a folded Buff over my ears most of the year as I suffer with ear trouble

You will run when you feel better. You’ll know 😃👍✔️🏃‍♀️

I chew gum with Xylitol in it on the side of the effected ear. It’s got anti bac qualities for the mouth but its been found to help inner ear infections too
