My Achilles heel...

... is my Achilles heel. Last five minutes of the run I could feel it getting tight. Now, where are those eccentric exercises...?

Did the warm up, took it really steady through the first 5-10 (hideous as ever) but it was bloomin’ cold today. There’s a light dusting of snow on the moors!

Thinking I should invest in a pair of Fame-style leg warmers!

When I first read your post, I thought I read "flame-style" leg warmers. My hubby builds street rods so I was picturing these awesome flames 🔥on the bottom of your legs, thinking, oooh, gotta get me some of those - stylish 😆😆😆

Well, if I could find them in that kinda pattern I’d definitely get some!

... perhaps you need to focus on keeping your foot loose instead. :D

Achilles? You should never mess with that. I got my exercises through my physio and they work but it takes a while for it to settle down.

If left untreated, just like any discomfort whether in the knees or ankles, the 'real' fun could start soon and that sort of fun is reserved strictly for masochist.

It's worth remembering that if a problem, any problem, persists and you are resting up & stretching then it's a physio time.

Good luck!

Thank you @mrrun. I have some exercises to do and my GP is a runner - she’s v helpful! The hard part will be sticking to them and resisting the temptation to run on it too soon!

Do rest up Petrina. Do as much research as you can and consider professional advice.

I twanged mine and was not running for well over a month and that was just a minor injury. If it lets go completely, you have to learn to walk again, so please take it seriously.

Mine cause me no problems now, so the problem can be overcome.

Thank you, will do. As ever, your advice balances caution and optimism beautifully!
