I graduated 2 months ago and was so pleased with myself. But I then became ill and have had 2 months with no exercise at all. So this morning saw me doing week 1 run 1 all over again. It felt like a struggle. It’s terrifying how quickly your fitness levels drop if you do nothing. I’m a bit depressed at having to start again but I think it’s for the best. Grrrrr!

Thank you! I’m not sure I’ll “fly” though. I was lumbering along this morning!

You will get there , I know where your coming from , I've completed the programme 3 times for one reason or another and I too was shocked at my loss of fitness. Just enjoy the journey again and you will soon be back to where you left off but don't rush it

It’s really comforting to hear from someone who’s had to repeat. Thank you

I started this earlier in the year - got to Week 7 then broke some ribs, and had to stop.

Started again in Sept, and it does feel a bit like your legs know what they are doing the 2nd time round, not that its much easier, but it feels familiar.

You will be fine - i graduated last night, so it obviously works.

I know what you mean about the familiarity for your legs. Just wish my lungs were the same!

Ah no - my lungs are still sh*te, cant help you there :-)

It takes many months and years to build your running body and as you have found out it can all disappear in a very short time. There will be residual benefits from the last time you were running, so although it may feel like it, you are not going back to where you were when you first did C25K.

At least you know what at to expect and you know that you will succeed.

Good luck.

You’ve done it before so you know you can do it again and you already know how great you feel on graduation 👩‍🎓 ... you get to feel it twice so go for it 😊

Slow and steady and you will be back on track soon :) Make sure you pop in your rest day exercise too :) That will help!

I will try. Thank you!

It’s frustrating when things go beyond your control, but the good news is, you did it once and you know what’s achievable. You know you may have some doubts and some runs will be tough, but you know how to get that badge.

Good luck with your return journey...

I’m aching tonight just like I did first time around! Thanks for your encouragement and support.

You are doing the course this time with 20/20 vision and as IannodaTruffe says there will be a vestige of your previous C25K within you (2 months really isn't that long) - I think your body will start remembering really quickly! 8-)
