Yes absolutely normal. It should be called c2 30 minutes running (read the small print!). Better to be slow and building 'running legs' than to be put off or injured! 5k will be waiting for you and can be a goal for post graduation running :)

Yep.. absolutely...only a few folk make 5K in nine weeks! Check out past posts...

Slow is just fine.. slow is the new fast.. slow is the way to go :)

You are doing just fine.. cruise up to that podium where we will be waiting for you!

I was so disappointed when I realised that I too was only covering about 3k. That's why this group is so good as you realise that it is pretty normal. I'm just having to remind myself that back in mid August when I started, I was in a real state after my first podcast of nearly all walking - and now I have been able to do something resembling running for 30minutes without stopping. That's one hell of an achievement. I'm going to aim for a 5k park run in January on the expectation there will be some fools who go out in new year resolution excitement with no training- and even if I end up walking some of it, may not be last to finish.

Keep it up, you are doing fantastically.

Hi I hope it’s normal because it’s roughly what I manage! (I graduated last week). Good luck and don’t worry about speed, snails are great! 🐌

I'm on week 7 and covering around 3.5km per run now. I doubt I'll reach the 5k in 30 minutes either. But you know what, who cares. Running for 30 minutes non stop is a great achievement by itself. Speed and further distances will come in time. Keep up the good work!

Don't worry there is no such thing as too slow... your nice steady pace is all that you need to Graduate this program.

You will be able to run for 5k , it will most probably take you longer than 30 mins 😆 (41 is my pb to date) and it will happen once you have consolidated your 30 min runs and grown stronger running legs. You will have confidence in your ability and enjoy the challenge of getting there.

So, relax and enjoy your Graduation week..you are doing brilliantly..being able to run for 30 mins is a terrific acheivement. Good luck 😊x

Thank you all!! Am working all weekend so probably will be next week when I finish. Then as you say, my next aim will be 5K xx

Hiya I’ve just graduated and am covering 4K but that includes the 5 min walks either side . Don’t worry about speed xx

You're doing fab, the speed and/or distance comes with time, I can run 5k but in 30 minutes - no chance and I graduated in August. I found that my distance and times improved in the first few weeks post graduation, when I focussed on consolidating and getting used to running 5k as a standard. It's surprising how once you've got the magic 30 minutes under your belt how quickly you improve. I think it was Irishprincess who said it takes about a year to get your running legs in and settled.

The 30 minutes continuous running is an achievement in itself, so lots of luck to you for your graduation run.

Could you run two miles non stop before you started C25k?

I know I couldn't and wherever you reach at graduation, you are fitter and healthier than before, so does it really matter.

This might make you feel better. womensrunning.competitor.co...

Hi I also feel that I’m extremely slow. On a 25 min run I manage 13/14 mins per mile. I am totally deflated but keep plodding , family member states I’m jogging, not running but either way I’m moving, just wish I could do it quicker x

Well if it isn't normal there are a great many of us busy being abnormal with you! 😂

- But it is fine - perfectly normal according to many posts. I too am slow and have decided firmly to enjoy my running & not fret about pace & distance. The fact that I can run at all is amazing. 😄
