Well, I was going to have 2 days rest and complete C25K tomorrow, but you know me, keen bean, I woke up super early so thought, let's get out there! Another nice 30 minutes run in the peaceful early morning darkness. Pace and breathing nicely established now, so in a way, this was just another run to me. Have no idea of my distance or pace, as independent of me, Map My Run decided not to log any data today. Today of all days! No bother - I ran a steady pace for 30 mins and felt good and that's what counts, right?

Strangely, not feeling particular elated about finishing. I am proud I finished the programme, and I am LOVING running! I think I felt most elated when I finished the first 30 minute run. After that? I was just running, you know, cos that's what I do!

There is no way, I believe, that I would have got here without the support of you lovely people. Seriously, you have cheered me on, consoled me, offered me good advice (that has enabled me to get to this point), and you have made me laugh and laugh. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I truly value the friendships I have made on here and I truly cheer you all on too, wherever you are in the programme and beyond.

And 316neil, keep up your knee strengthening exercises, okay. I will be watching you. I am not going anywhere (other than 3 x 30 runs a week. πŸ˜€)

Well done Sadie, you did good.....onto 10K programme now? 😊

I’m relying on you to help me through my experience now ☺️

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate in reply to TedG

Thanks Ted! 10k? Hmmm maybe next year! I want to do a bit of consolidation first. A regular running routine of 30 mins 3 x week, maybe work a bit on pace. Then yes, never ever thought I would consider it, but I would love to train for 10k. :-)

But mostly I run for the joy of it, so pace, distance not my sole focus.

And I will be checking in regularly I.e every day, to see how you are doing and cheer you on, my friend. πŸ˜€

Congratulations doesn't even cover it, really really well done. I am incredibly proud of you. You've worked so hard and totally deserve your crown!

Wahaaaayyyy ! Nice one!

You've really done great at this and if you dont believe me, go back and have a read of some of your earlier posts. I think your very first post pretty much summed up the great attitude that has been with you throught all of this.

'I am going to keep on running, I am determined to get fit, and really enjoying the programme'

So well done you! And dont be too sure about leaving it too long before you want to start reaching for that 10K.

Congratulations Sadie.

GB

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate in reply to GingerBohemian

Aw, thanks buddy! And thank you for being a great source of support, inspiration and not least, entertainment. :-)

Now you mention it, I have been pretty positive throughout C25K. No idea how I mustered that up, I am not known as an especially positive person! I think my timing was right; I needed this running lark in my life, and I wanted to give it my best shot. I soon discovered that running makes me ridiculously happy, and happiness is very addictive.

Watch this space. I bet I start my 10k training sometime in the new year…am thinking early spring. I have lots of mini-goals before that though, so will keep motivated!

Again, thank you dear GB. x

Thank you, darling Flossie. Your "slow and steady" mantra truly made a difference to my journey. You have helped me so so much...I cannot begin to thank you enough!

And yes, the plan is definitely consolidation. I have a spreadsheet all ready for the next two months. πŸ˜€ I want to get to 5k, in the short term (am not far off), but most of all, my aim is to continue to enjoy my 30 minute runs. New routes is a great idea though! And I have lots of 30 minute Zombie missions to enjoy. 😱
