Haven't run for 10 days but managed a 20 minute run this morning...I'm happy with that

As we all know, life gets in the way sometimes! At the weekend it was hubby's 60th birthday - lots of preparations for that, but a good time was had by all - a nice family dinner party at The Shard; spectacular views. Then, on Monday, had to say goodbye to younger daughter and her boyfriend at Heathrow - they have gone off on a six month trip of a lifetime to South-East Asia, New Zealand and Australia. As my mind has been elsewhere, I couldn't even start to think about myself until I knew that she had arrive safely. So, this morning I was determined to try to get back on track. I walked for 5 mins and ran for 20 mins followed by a cool down walk for 5 mins. And you know what, I'm happy with that. I feel quite prepared to run for 30 mins on Friday and I know that I will. Lots of people on this forum have been saying that they feel disappointed with themselves if they haven't achieved what they set out to achieve. I get that; have felt like it myself, but as the song says all you have to do is 'get yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again'. And, don't beat yourself up!

True Kimterry, well done.😊

As usual a mum always makes sure everyone else is fine before taking time for herself... I know the feeling...

I hope your daughter and her boyfriend have a fabulous time, six months must seem ages for you.

Good luck with your 30 mins on Friday, of course you will do it, you are a runner😊xx
