Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going,

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju and Realfoodieclub

:)

Good morning! Just completed run 1 of week 3 after a 12 hour night shift, to say I’m pooped is an understatement! Time to wind down with a glass of water and off to bed I go 😴

After 12 hours at work, it's impressive you got your running kit on - let alone completing the run :-)

Yeah I didn’t want to as it was fairly windy and rainy but knew I wouldn’t get up earlier to do it later so thought I’d best get it out of the way considering I’m working again tonight!

Hope it went well. Found W6R1 quite hard. Just did W6R2 today and that was OK on a beautiful autumn morning! Question is...... "Can I run for a whole 25 minutes?" Am hoping that Michael Johnson will be at his most motivational for me next week.

I’ll be starting week 6 in a bit, curious how it feels compared to the first 20 minute run last week, feeling confident

I read somewhere that if you are able to sing whilst running then you've git a bit more to 'give'. As I do have the occasionally sing-a-long, I thought I would up the pace a wee bit - wk7, it was tougher, but I got through it :-)

Just finished week 4 this morning so will be doing my first week 5 run on Wednesday. Completely ignoring the fact that this means a week from today I will have to run 20 minutes.

I'm supposed to be doing week 5 run 1 today. Rather nervous for these runs to say the least! But let's do it! Just keep running until Sarah milican tells me to stop, that's what I say.

Good luck!

Ha... You sound like me exactly a week ago. Just did week 5 this evening. So far this programme has been amazing and well worth the effort. Lets see what next week brings

Hi all, I'm hoping to do 6k on tomorrow's run, 5k on Thursday and park run on Saturday. Good luck with your running everyone.

w5r1 coming up at lunchtime - feeling really positive about the week ahead. I'm a world away from where I started in w1r1 and I actually look forward to the runs now. Happy running everyone.

Well, did just fine on w5r1 - I was feeling a bit tired and I certainly wasn't at my best, but I managed to keep on trucking. What a relief!! Looking forward to Wednesday for the next challenge (w5r2)

This is my first post on the forum I am on week 3 run 2 and it's the first time I have had the courage to run outside. I'm not a spring chicken and haven't run for probably thirty years properly. So I was disappointed I couldn't do the three minute runs, I do them fine inside but it was really hard. I am fortunate to have a lovely daughter who runs 10ks and is training for the half marathon and a younger sister on week 6 of c25k all are very encouraging but I feel frustrated and a bit discouraged but I will keep on going because the whole idea is to be fitter and healthier and a bit thinner would be good too!!

I was in the same position a few weeks ago. Now enjoying it. I think you will surprise yourself at how quickly you improve. Good luck!

Oh please don't be too discouraged! I struggled too with the 3 mins, but now confidently do the 5 mins and am staring down the 8 mins. You'll get there too

Week 7 run 1 done! On holiday in Cornwall, but got up before everyone, put my kit on and went... And no-one was as surprised as I with that! It was slow, perhaps too slow, as I sped up considerably on the last minute, which means I wasn't exhausted enough!

W8R2 tomorrow, finally enjoying the feeling of being 'fit'. Legs occasionally complain but heart and lungs loving it

So W6R2 and I feel like I'm plodding rather than running/ jogging. Legs do feel heavier this week and just feel generally out if sorts. It can only get better......right.

Just getting ready to go on week 4 run 2... wish me luck! Found run 1 pretty hard!

Well, W5R2 went really well. My NEMESIS, the hill that forms part of my regular running loop, tried to stop me today, but I was having nothing of it and kept on trucking. Looking forward to W5R3 on Friday or Saturday.

Also ... the postie brought me some fell running shoes. That should make the dog walk more exciting. It's B hard running in wellies!

W5R3 - Bagged and Tagged

Well, had an absolute slob out yesterday after a few days of lots of walking and activity. My daily steps target of 12.5k is normally sorted by tea time, but yesterday I think I managed 6k all day. Still, that was the plan ... because I went out today for W5R3 and did really well. There's still a long uphill stretch which starts at about 16 mins, but that 20 min target helped me push past that and I even managed to keep my heart rate from going to the red line!

Looking forward to W6 and I'm feeling like my first session with the "ready to run" group on Monday will be fun (previously, I'd have had to have been sedated and dragged to it like Mr T on an aeroplane). Also going to give Pilates a try on Weds ...

Endorphins ahoy!

PS - Fell running shoes bought mail order were too small in the toes. Going to have to follow my own advice and go to the real shop!
