Absolutely stunning autumnal morning this morning.

Was supposed to be out yesterday but then Mrs GB wanted to go out for the day and the day just ran away from us (no pun intended).

And as I have the joy of 4 countries in 4 days with business next week which will mean finding places to run close to the hotel then I wanted to be up and out nice and early this morning.

I’ve decided that I will do the route down by the road that is 4km but with the Kings of Neon slope once a week with a view to getting all the way round with no stops and the other two runs each week will be along the route I did throughout C25K. One at 5km trying to increase my time and one at my normal joffle but try to increase the distance.

So on with my Ghost 10 graduation present from me to me, poured myself into my Dayglo Go Faster running gear and headed out the door.

I fell in love with really early morning running in California and Canada this summer when I was there for 3 weeks working and had to get the run in at 5am before work.

Now I am home it’s no different. It sets me up for the day and it’s beautiful to see everything when it is so peaceful. Broken only by the Minion Express huffing and puffing along.

Pushed the last km today and got my 5km at under 8min/km.

Still a long way to go for 5km in 30min but I am in this for the long run ( ;) )

A PB on time and also slightly pushed the distance to 5.2km

If you are post grad, in the middle of it all or just starting, get out there and do it first thing in the morning. You’ll love it.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Beautiful. Autumn running is so rewarding, isn't it? I am a morning runner through and through. In fact, I have only run in the mornings throughout this whole programme.

Nice running shoes by the way. Well done on another great run, GB!

Glorious GB I'm envious, my running is vicarious at present, as I can't run. But this reminds me exactly why I want to...

How are you finding your Brooks?? I’ve switched to them from a pair of sauconys but they’ve taken the skin off the back of one of my ankle/heels. Strange thing is my left foot is slightly bigger than my right but it’s my right foot that’s hurt. Hoping it will settle down as I love the shoes. Sx

I was pretty much running in clogs honed out of an oxen’s hip bone before so they are pure pleasure.

If your right foot's smaller it could be moving around in the shoe more leading to that sort of thing, I find that happens with regular shoes.

Good point, thanks very much. Will try tying them tighter next time to see if that helps. Sx
