Varicose veins - such a lovely look

Good afternoon you lovely people . Can anyone tell me if this running lark makes your veins worse? If so should I be doing/wearing anything to help?

Since I started c25k 18 months ago, my varicose veins (and I have lots of them) have been a lot better.

However we are all different, if you are worried about them or they get worse go and speak to your GP.

Thank you, it’s only cosmetic really but the thought of ropey calves brings out my vanity gene . At the moment they’re unsightly but not painful so I’ll see what happens

compression leggings or socks are your friend, also make sure your shoes have adequate cushioning and try to run on softer surfaces such as grass rather than concrete/tarmac

Thank you for that advice, I’ve been running off road as I don’t like the impact of the hard surfaces. Will try some leggings too
